Making ranked lists this year had a weird feel for me as well...probably because for more of the year than not, video games were the only external indicator that time was passing

Phantom Pain's a real wild card. Unlike every other title, you really do get out of it what you put into it. Even as someone who strongly disliked the plot, I have to admit I found myself engaging in a much wider variety of play styles than even the entries I've played a zillion times. And those boss fights were killer

@capt_blakhelm: No no no these are great additions! I did this almost entirely from memory lol completely forgot about James Pond!

@bhlaab: That's definitely my biggest blind spot. Didn't get into 16 bit stuff until way after the fact, and it never occurred to me to seek out those games when I did.
