I wish there wasn't so much secrecy. But I understand wanting privacy. But also, it's like sometimes I feel they make too big a deal out of this stuff. It's not like any of them are disappearing. If any of them were retiring from public life for good, that would be a bigger story, but I don't think that's the case. I guess I don't know. People that aren't part of giant bomb come on the shows all the time. I wish they could at least say a little bit about what's going through their heads for future endeavors. Why is that always kept a secret when these things happen? One burning question I have is... How will all of them continue to have enough money? Are they just so loaded they can all retire?

dude they probably dont really know yet. And also, they can do lots of things that dont involve being public facing. Alex was working on game development not so long ago and wasn't in the public eye like he was at GB for example.

Felt this coming for a bit now... but it still stings. GB was really important to me. To keep anything going that long at a high level is extremely difficult. Thanks for all the entertainment guys. You were pioneers in what is now a real industry and you should be proud.

Also I get the Dungeon Keeper and Dungeons comparisons, but for me the flavor and world of Evil Genius is so much more compelling and interesting. The high fantasy tossed off stuff is just so boring.

@emphulio:I get that the money cheat smooths things over but I have to recommend this for fans or anyone interested in Evil Genius 1.

I played it with this GREAT Evil Genius Overhaul mod which rebalanced and made me love the first game when I played it with the mod. It sanded off the rough edges and really felt like essential improvements.

Generally though it makes the game easier and makes it less hostile. That sounds like a lot to make it boring but it actually lets the game breathe and shine in all ways as a sim. It also kills the downtime of waiting for things to happen.

He also totally rebalanced all the progression and rewards on the map in a great way. It's a must play mod for me that I hope people try and see what they think because again it made the game what it should have been for me.

I actually also think the original games graphics still look pretty cool in a stylized way. People should check it out, Evil Genius is dirt cheap I'm sure too.

@schindigg: so agreed on DOOM 2016, that made the game unbelievably satisfying. I haven't played AC Odyssey but that's a good tip for that, thinking about trying it eventually as I'm a Ancient Greek history fan.

I really think some of these games do a disservice to themselves on their normal difficulty. People have shown they are open to some challenge with Souls games and BOTW for example.

For me on "Hard" Witcher 3 has my favorite combat in any action RPG, meanwhile I often see takes about how the combat is not good with a shocking frequency.

IMO games are far funner on Hard these days as they require you to engage with more of games systems.

This is so true for CD Prokjekt. Witcher 3 absolutely shines on Blood and Broken Bones and is such a better experience. All your upgrades feel so much more meaningful and exciting with the increased difficulty tension.

Yeah the GB guys are terrible covering and talking about RPGs, and Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG for certain. These are all the same guys who said Witcher 3 was only good for the first 20 hours and said it played terrible and stuff so that's what we're working with. Vinny did play it eventually but he hardly talked about it in any detail on the site at all. Hence, why I love:

This. Thanks brother you rule. I could have hunted but I was hoping for a fine citizen like yourself to help me out.

The Olive Garden reviews were amazing. Reminds me of Ryan reading his Yelp review of a Mongolian barbecue place on the Bombcast.

The line "they hoard rice like nazi gold" about the chincy servings of white rice at that bbq is seared into my brain. best yelp review ever.
