As someone that works in a grocery store I can tell you guys it's going to get far worse before it gets better. Printed invoices and multiple delivers had a 30%-18% fulfillment. Those numbers are far worse than the height of covid.

Chocolate milk and a dozen donuts sound like heaven. If I did that now It'd put me in a hospital.

Finally some Fuga Melodies of Steel coverage, I feel that game was very overlooked by outlets in general, it is part of CyberConnect2's push for selfpublished stuff and it'd be a shame if it bombed and they have to keep doing the boring mercenary work of cranking out licensed anime games.

Never a huge fan of krispy kreme. Don't know why people go wild over it.

Saints Row 3 was a great game made for teenagers back in 2011. I think it's exciting that now they're trying to make a genuingly new game for this generation of teens.

Always funny when jeff's like most people and side-eyeing a new call of duty cause the mass opinion is that it's gonna be more COD and it's like a sports franchise coming out each year, but the bones are there the shooting is gonna be decent to good, and your gonna play it. Then it's a rare chance it's outright BAD so the only thing making you bounce off is if you have the mindset for it. Like how many hated advanced warfare for all the changes and jeff liked it. It's just funny cause 4 had more weird changes and jeff and people hated it. So on.

It's funny to then see COD somewhere on his GOTY list at year's end and him bewildered as well when he starts each preview of a new COD looking at it like...this is just Call of duty. I think this game will hit him nicely but he will bounce off, since the mood's not there, nothing against the game. His biggest critics were the maps which you have to grow into a liking for more than a week or so. The guns having upgrades and it being goofy given the setting, which isn't a critic more just a remark since it's not really hurting the gameplay more than aesthetically annoying purist which skins will do anyway each year or having ahem women for people who don't like that. (I enjoy women in the games). Overall I hope the game is good.

I'm sorry, but I feel like Jeff is completely missing the point on why people are upset over this new Saints Row. The ones who are angry DID NOT LIKE Saints Row 3 and 4. Saints Row 2 is widely regarded as the best one in the series, and when people heard the franchise was getting a reboot, they assumed that it was finally returning to gang stuff like the old days. The new characters that they showed don't look like tough gangsters, so it's a pretty rough first impression.

Hearing both Jeff's complain about how they didn't like the multiplayer in Black Ops Cold War is hilarious. Because they clearly don't get it. When it comes to the Treyarch COD games, it's all about the Zombies co-op modes, which is some of the best they've done so far. That's what the main online draw of the Black Ops games have been for years, not Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, and the other stuff.

About the email when the person asked how far is a person willing to go to get some food or drink they really like? My personal answer is a pizza place called Mineo's. It's miles away from where I live, but anyone whose been there knows what I'm talking about. It's easily some of the best pizza you can get on the East Coast outside of New York, and the place has won many awards. They also have one of the best meatball hoagies you can get.

Every minute of this show is just so much fun.

As a quick neat note, Black Desert Online made enough money that the developers were able to acquire the CCP Games, creators of Eve Online, as a publisher. I'd imagine the mobile game in particular rakes in money through all the freemium. The game grossed $1.7 billion worldwide as of last year. This gives me some hope for Doke-V actually coming together! :)

I love how you try and camouflage your opinion about Saints Row 2 as the obvious consensus on the series. Maybe in the places you hang out it's the most popular one but 3 and 4 individually sold way more than 2 and both have higher metacritic ratings than 2. I don't have a personal opinion but it's just really funny to see someone come out swinging about Saints Row 2 of all possible games.

My only nugget to contribute is that as soon as I heard the name "Doke-V" I was like "This absolutely has to be made by Koreans" and I was right. A "dokkebi" (Koreans say "v" as "b") is a Korean spirit monster thing similar to yokai in Japan. A lot of the time they're depicted similarly to ogres but they've got a wide variety of forms they can take and they're usually really powerful.

Wouldn't it be great if the podcast had time markers per subject or segment? like even video chapters maybe?

The Wikipedia generation count has those Pong machines and other consoles with only built-in games as gen 1, the 2600 and other early cartridge systems as gen 2.

When I was in college, and I went to a Dunkin Donuts with friends, it dawned on me that for the first time in my life I could order a dozen donuts and have them all to myself and eat as many as I want. I was only able to eat 5 before feeling sick. It was a fairly disappointing moment for me. I, too, was drinking chocolate milk with them. Definitely didn't help. Krispy Kreme is great, but I don't have any near me. I first had it when I was about 15, on a trip. The whole donut-melting-in-your-mouth feel is fairly incredible to someone who's never experienced it before.

As for how long will you drive scenarios, the closest Waffle House is about 90 minutes away, I've been there multiple times. The closest Sonic is about 1 hour 45 min, been there a few times as well.

What a strange NFL segment.

JeffB says that he wants to see the game move towards being more of a realistic simulation where you have to be positioned right and have the skates standing in the right way before you can move a certain way, and certain unrealistic shots are no longer possible.

JeffG disagrees and says that the game has to be fun & responsive as a game first and foremost instead of being true to life. Players want to move the stick on the controller, and feel like they have control over the stick in game. Whether it's realistic or not is secondary to the goal of making this a fun playing game.

To me, this is a pretty wide gulf in opinion on what the game should be, yet Bakalar suddenly says he agrees with all Gerstmann's points eventhough it goes straight against the style of game he wants NFL to be.

Was... was Jan joking when he said "I think [OSX] Mavericks is the one that's out now"? Because Mavericks was fuggin 2013, my man. You should probably update your Mac!
