@csl316: You've clearly not plumbed the depths that Jeff is talking about. SEO-based pre-release videogame hype raps are universally execrable and very deserving of mockery. If the people that make them then do other stuff they put real work into, sure, good on them, but that Anthem rap about "technologyyyyyyyyy you find it on the ground!" (and anything else like it) was hilariously bad.

There was a string quartet rendition of Sweet Child o' Mine specifically used at a wedding in The Office. Maybe Jess' friends were recreating that.

Is the “child singing a nursery rhyme” trend in horror movie/game trailers related to Sad Bastard covers? Could it be a progenitor? I remember a really annoying one in front of a Dead Space game (before the hilarious heavy cover of “In The Air Tonight” for 3).

I don't agree with Jeff that the videogame review joke content in Ultra Deluxe doesn't work. He's part of a very small number of people for which that stuff will obviously hit differently, but I found it quite funny. I don't think that it's bad just because it isn't done a specific way.

On the free audio version, the ad starts to play early before the last break and overlaps with what they are saying. It happens around 2:26:33 for me, but is probably different for other locations. Not sure if it can be fixed, but just putting it out there.

@topcyclist: I see what you're saying, and of course you can not find it funny. I feel like the point you're making takes the narrator at face value, as an earnest grievance with reviews. I saw the whole thing as poking fun at itself and making the narrator a fragile man child who essentially ends the world with that button over his desire to "fix" reviews.

Not thinking that's a funny joke is fine, but Jeff said on this podcast it has to be done a certain way in order to be good/funny and that's what I don't agree with.

I've been to the Bon Jovi reststop, on the garden state parkway. It used to be called the Cheesequake reststop, which I think is a better name for a place to take a dump

Anyway when you go in, the place is decorated with murals and quotes from other famous people from NJ, such as George R.R. Martin. There's also some kind of holographic display box that I never checked out. I paid $18 there for a usb cable to charge my phone because of course that's the price for an emergency buy

As far as reststops go it feels small, the only food options are burger king, auntie annes, starbucks, and a convenience store.
