Unfinished: Dune: Spice Wars

As far as 4x games go this seems not to tough to get into.

Also people should read the first Dune book it's a classic for a reason and don't worry to much about the other books.

Rorie seems to have some mixed feelings on this, but I've really enjoyed this game thus far. It reminds me a lot of Sins of a Solar Empire if that's your thing.

I thought this was a game about synthetic marijuana battles in the California desert. I guess this is better.

Rorie is right- Incendies is such a good movie. Just such a beautiful, emotional film.

This game looks actually pretty chill? I like the idea of being able to just play it solo to kinda figure out the ropes for a bit. I'm not sure if that's fine in other 4x games, but it's a cool thing.

Yeah, that's generally how most 4x games play. There are a bunch of systems to learn and all kinds of events that pop up that you can't really know what the best approach is until you have gained experience with the game by playing it enough. I bet very few people will actually finish their first game, most just use that first time to get familiar with the game and figure out what's important to strive towards and how the economy tends to play out.

I wasn't really excited for this game but after this quick look, it seems like exactly what I want in a 4x

I"m playing through Timberborn at the moment, but after that I think I'm gonna snag this. Or that new Warhammer 40k tactics RPG. This does seem pretty great though.

The draw of Dune series is the lore and the scale and the weird science of it to me and I wish that was conveyed better visually in this game. This just looks like a 4x game using Dune made assets, but to me it doesn't capture the epic scale of Dune. This sort of is a bummer for me to watch, I was really hoping to see something really cool to watch and eventually play. Homeworld did a better job visually with making a world that would be better suited for Dune.
