I think Lex was conflating the Nvidia leak and the Capcom ransomware leak.

And both of those still have a bunch of unannounced stuff in it. The Capcom one had a new Onimusha, Mega Man, a Final Fight remake, new Monster Hunter etc.

@arjann: I actually totally forgot about the Capcom ransomware leak ngl (I think I was head down in college at the time and just forgot). I was thinking of the Nvidia leak where RE 4 and Dragon's Dogma got leaked first. Good shout though, I couldn't think of any persistent rumours around Capcom possible upcoming unannounced slate but they were there in that stuff.

Tam & Lucy just reminded us all to stop buying pre-orders, so Square can blame them!

Also, Lex's reminder that Square is bad at expectations is an absolute home run of a take. That company needs to start contracting some better prognosticators.

Square has been panicking about FF16 for a long time as far as I'm concerned. Remember when the producer for the game had to remind people that the game isn't going to release on PC as soon as the exclusivity period is over?

I'm assuming he had to say that because people aren't preordering the game, saying they'll wait for the PC release.

That's what I'm waiting for at least. I even own a PS5, but I'd rather buy FF16 on steam, where I own all the other FF games.

Also, I'm the biggest FF7 fan I know, but the remake was a huge disappointment to me, so nothing is going to make me less excited for final fantasy like reminding me how disappointed I was with the FF7 remake.
