1. You have a QUICK SAVE.

2. On this level you have a handy med-bay where you start the game. You can come back to it as many times as you need and completely replenish your health. Though it's good to get used to using various health items.

3. SS1 was level-based, but you could (and actually had to) move freely between levels using elevators.

Otherwise, good and factually correct quick look.

I've recently played the Enhanced Edition of the original SS (mouse look!!!) as preparation for this. I'd recommend playing that wholeheartedly, though the remake seems so faithful that it probably is a better choice.

When did we start/stop/restart calling these games "immersive sims"? I heard it this morning on YouTube for the first time, and now also here...!!!

I'm really enjoying this remake. I've tried to get into the original a few times over the years, even the Enhanced Edition, but never stuck with it. You don't know how good you have it with this remake until you try the controlling the original. Night and day improvements all around.

I got the same feeling from beating SS2 a couple years ago for a thing.

@genessee: Play the remake of SS1 or SS:EE. It was such a surprise for me. It's a fully-formed and succesful "one of these".

ONE YEAR AFTER DOOM.

In the video Grubb guesses this is like 6-7 hours, but for a new player it'll probably be closer to 25.

It never really stopped being called that, it's just that a large part of the general audience isn't in the know enough about this specific subgenre and will just call it an FPS or whatever.
