I know this is a useless comment but I might be out. I played over 90 hours of Breath of the Wild and I know that's quite a lot, but I really don't remember much about it other than rolling balls around everywhere. I'm also very admittedly awful at finding the fun, so doubling down on creation and exploration rather than bringing the more intricate dungeon designs of Link to the Past or Ocarina of Time or Wind Waker makes me worry that I'd spend most of this game just doing some pretty regular shit while some Gamespot employee is working on his 7th 101 things you STILL don't know about Tears of the Kingdom video.

Is jeff right about pro controllers having battery issues? In my experience it's one of the best batteries in a wireless controller I've used?

@tropesage: same, never had any issue with the battery, only had the stick drift a bit sometimes

This game looks fun! I think I might finnaly get the OLED version with this edition

Bakalar having no idea about Pro controller battery life and just being negative because he had nothing else to say sums up his last 2 years at GB. This video only needed Dan and Grubb

The performance in this game looks terrible. Clearly way below 30fps. Such a shame. Especially, since Nintendo knows this game will sell like gang busters anyway.

Yet you can play the always online clone Genshin Impact at a nice 60fps. Yeah, I said it. And I'm willing to bet you can do a lot more in that game than in this BOTW sequel. I love Nintendo games as much as the next person when they are good, but I'm not a mindless fanboy/girl who overlook glaring flaws.

And I know it will get 10 stars from every publication, including GB whom rarely do reviews, right... that was rhetorical.

I wonder if the shrines in this game is that weird thing you can see clearly at 2:26 in the video. when they were riding up to the twin peaks stable you could see the green rings that were just above it.

@av_gamer: I’m sure the main game will have frame drops but I didn’t see any during the demo. Did genshin release on switch? Does baby need a hug?

I really hope someone on staff does a 'first hours' stream, like they have done with GoW, RDR2 etc.

From the podcast it sounds like they wont be getting review codes, so will be fun to see them experience the game the same day as everyone else.

I wouldnt count it out yet. The use of mixing items seems to lend itself to some very creative ideas on finishing puzzles, add the reverse time mechanic and other ideas and it could have fun dungeons you crave and you should be able to mainline them. I wouldnt count nintendo out, with them using the same map they must have had more time to work on gameplay and took points into consideration like weapon braking being fixed by using mixes instead of doing what other companies do in that they see a problem and throw out the entire thing and please no one still playing. (Assassins creed getting rid of the main story instead of improving it, or getting grappling hooks to scale buildings instead of making climbing funner, so they just made less things to climb with sequels...like really lol. )

Naw, its nice to get a different perspective. Dan is 10/10 for nintendo skew, Grubb 7/10, Bakalar 5/10...it helps see what an average person thinks even if it's not too important to your purchase. Its like showing my grandma the john wick 4 movie that keeps getting perfect scores and seeing her say...its boring...doesnt matter for many but it helps realize ehh there are things you can do to make non fans like it, or stay away from things they would like lol. Besides, with jeff gone things have gotten too chummy lately...we need to keep grounded cynicism lol.

@ej:I too think it looks like trash. This is the worst looking Zelda, gameplay is just nuts and crap again...shame Nintendo is so bad at making a unique game on their dated wait a minute...Oh...forgot to open my eyes when watching this video...this game looks great...since when can we do all this stuff in Genshin Impact? genshin is fun, but it also has fps drops and simple dungeons.

First 30 seconds: Ugh... the graphical capability of the switch gets harder and harder to ignore.

New abilities: Wow.. they combined Nuts & Bolts with some Dota 2 ( giving all those items more use-cases)

Very impressed by how creative they are by focusing on new gameplay solutions in this thing. People seemed to hate the stamina system for long climbs, so having a new way to circumvent that is neat. Durability annoyed some, so they found a way to mitigate that too.

I do hope that the game gives you enough reasons to keep you being creative and that it doesn't become a 'i'll make the raft for water, i'll make the long stick weapon if i need to fight and i ignore all the other stuff because it are worse options for the situation' You'll always have a group of players that don't need motivation from the game itself to keep experimenting, but there are also plenty of people that need to get that little push from the game to stop going for the obvious choices.

As much as I look forward to sticking all the things to things, I'm not sure if this increased my hype level any. Heck, the vehicle building stuff is kinda immersion-breaking to me. Of course I'll still buy it, play it, and likely enjoy it, but nothing shown so far has left me as breathless as the original BotW trailer.
