Apparition combines elements of a first-person survival action and a horror adventure. The player acts as a ghost hunter coming in the middle of the night to Green Creek, a haunted American forest.

The ghost hunter's goal is to document the existence of paranormal activity by taking photographs, filming video,s or recording audio of what he comes in contact with. He must do it carefully and without being detected because the demons roaming the forest can kill him instantly and there is no way to fight them.
