I don't like OS 10.7, it's not the OS for me.  I've seen it, I've read up on it...and I'm tired of Apple putting the iOS onto OSX.

It's not why I got OSX.

I was hoping 10.7 would be 64bit only, improved OpenCL, more flexibility with the unix commands and some other minor stuff.

What did we get?  We got iOS into OSX...the very opposite of what the hardcore OSX users want.

I think I might just switch over to Windows 7 and get the M11x as my next laptop.

It was kind of inevitable this was going to happen. I was quite worried too, but to me it seems they've done alright.

Mac App store - So long as you can still get apps by other means then I see no wrong
Launchpad seems mostly useless, but you can just ignore it and continue as you were.
Full screen apps -  Also optional and can be handy sometimes so why not.
    Mission Control - Looks awesome

They did say this was only a taster and it's very possible all the things you mentioned will be in there.

...what I don't get is why they called it Lion, when it's only 10.7, you figure they'd use "Lion" for 10.9.

If they didn't already have Steam for Mac, I'd think this was them taking a big step in that direction.

    Agreed.

-I think it's all good movements in the right direction.
-I think launchpad seems pretty sweet.
-Imagine just open apps in the dock, and a swipe of the track pad and a window of aps open.  Click your ap it opens and is in the dock.  I Have a ton of aps in my dock.  (Adobe Suite, Office, iwork aps, ilife aps, and Final Cut Studio in addition to mail, safari, quicktime...)  But when I'm working on a film maybe I just need itunes, final cut, After Effects and Photoshop open.
-Ap store looks cool, I hope they open it up to plug ins.

Then switch and end your hissy fit or you can just wait patiently and see what 10.7 has to offer when it comes out and if you still don't like then sell your current macbook and get a windows 7 pc. You know Kaos I have known you for quite some time now and I got much respect for you and your opinions but sometimes you are prone to have those child-like hiss fit that seem out of character for you.

The App store sounds awesome for getting programs. I can only see people getting angry if they pirate stuff, but I can't see how that would be a problem anyway. I will hopefully get my hands on 10.7 soon. Can't wait.

Actually, and I know you are going to find it hard to believe, Apple "drones" are the biggest and most critical of that company then the most hardcore MS fanboy you'll meet.

Ok sure, but i still look at Apple fans the same way i look at people who wear Ed Hardy, paying 3 times as much for not even half of what you'd get from a PC of equal price.

Seems fine to me. As long as I can get apps elsewhere, which would have to be possible, I'm cool with the changes. They know their market.

Yeah he got it wrong. It is only an application which allows you to use it like iOS, the main interface is the same.

Liger I can see, there is no way they will call it thunder cat, and cheetah was the older one.  :\

I am going to wait and see what Apple has in store for Lion. The app store sounds like a great way to help small Mac developers get their stuff out there. Mission control looks like a worthwhile feature since I use spaces and expose frequently. The iOS style multitasking I am waiting to see how it turns out from a performance perspective. Apple is going to tell us more about it eventually.

I wholeheartedly disagree with that statement. My Macbook Pro is the only computer in my office running two Operating Systems, I do Windows shit, I do OSX shit.

The way I see it the Windows based PC's in the office are doing half of what my Macbook Pro is capable of.

i still look at Windows fans the same way i look at people who wear Jonathan G, paying a fraction of the price, for a machine that does a fraction of the tasks.
