Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!!

Overview

Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX!!!!! is a 2D contemporary-fantasy fighting game developed and released by Examu for arcades (using PC-based Taito Type X² hardware, via the NESiCAxLive digital distribution platform) exclusively in Japan on May 8, 2013.

The first major revision to the 2009 game Arcana Heart 3, Love Max includes some gameplay changes and new game modes (some of which were from the original game's console version). It later received a successor in 2015, known as Arcana Heart 3: LOVE MAX SIX STARS!!!!.

The game later received a home release for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan by Arc System Works on May 25, 2014, with a North American release by Aksys Games on September 23, 2014 and a European release by NIS America on November 21, 2014. It also received a worldwide release for the PC by Arc System Works on September 29, 2015. These versions include stages from previous games in the series, as well as new Story Mode chapters.

Gameplay

Much of the gameplay remains the same as in the original Arcana Heart 3, with some updates to the Extend Force (A+B+C) power-up system:

• Activating an Extend Force while not cancelling from an attack (either on-its-own or while guarding) causes an Extend Blast pushback attack, similar to Arcana Burst.

• Each Arcana has a new Arcana Eclipse super move (performed by pressing B+C after a quarter-circle-back motion) that can only be performed during an Extend Force (similar to Arcana Blaze).
