    Armor Dye

    Concept »

Some games allow players to alter the color of their armor and clothing through the use of armor dye. The dye is an an actual in-game item, sometimes crafted by the player, and is required in order to customize the colors.

    Overview

Many games allow players to customize the color of their character's clothing, but some require the use of dye as an in-game item as a means of justifying this ability. For example, in EverQuest, players must craft or purchase vials of dye that are individually consumed to color each piece of armor. While, in Mass Effect 2, the color customization is simply a menu option without any mention of the use of dye.
