Bad Company 2 Onslaught Mode Not Actually Coming To PC Yet

DICE says previous report is "not accurate," PC Gamer clarifies.

Digital Illusions CE is asserting that the article PC Gamer published revealing that Onslaught mode was coming to PC was wrong. In a tweet, DICE's Battlefield community manager "zh1nt0" said simply, "The article published by PC Gamer is not accurate. We are currently researching if Onslaught will be available for PC. No release date."

Our request for comment about how the PC version of Onslaught was even possible was left unanswered by EA representatives. We asked because it's a four-player mode, an issue considering that the PC version of Bad Company 2 supports only dedicated servers. Allocating server resources to four-man games, when it needs to keep 32-man brawls in mind, makes Onslaught something of a bugbear.

PC Gamer has since pulled the original article and clarified the situation, pinning it all down to a miscommunication from an EA UK public relations rep, who offered up a graphics card as a giveaway to celebrate the Onslaught release... which, according to DICE, is still being researched and doesn't have a firm release date at all.

Onslaught hit consoles back in June. It added Rush-style play against AI across four retrofitted maps. For those of you who still don't have the content (PC owners), the video just below shows it off rather well.
