E3 2013: Here's A Coverage Wrap-Up

There should have been more videos of the bombers meeting to talk, like the E3 Day One/Two videos. Day 1 podcast was abysmal and day 3 wasn't great either. Day 2 was more in line with previous years, although it felt short of the craziness of previous years. I don't know if you tried to be more professional, but it only felt more corporate to me more than anything else, like Gamespot.

It's crazy how much great stuff the guys put out over last week. wow.

Watching this while Lockdown is playing is the "this is E3" moment.

The E3 content was absolutely banging this year, the only thing which could have improved it would have been some Johnny V on the liveshow, but maybe Disney have learnt to keep him on a tight leash.

Speaking on people who sometimes let their mouths run away slightly - will it ever be time to get Leigh Alexander back on a E3 show? I think it is time to forgive and forget (not that she did much wrong imo) because she has a ton of interesting views and opinions. I loved her breakdown of the subtext of MGS4 the first time (I think) she was on and it would be good to get her in the mix again. Especially as there were almost no women in this year's 'casts.

The return of fog in The Division. Looks like a high tech Nintendo 64 game :)

I didn't really like hearing her talk a lot at that time for the reasons I mentioned but I don't necessarily hate her, she's just not a great guest IMO compared to Paul, Rich, Adam, or Johnny V. I really couldn't take hearing her talk about MGS4. The conversation was already in an awkward place at that point. If anything a lady that I want on the GB E3 After hours live stream would be Carrie!

Fair dos, I get why she got on people's tits. I just felt she was always bursting to say something because she generally had something interesting to say and just had tons of enthusiasm and opinions about games. If this could be harnessed a little better and combined with a little less alcohol she would be a good guest - but I think I am in a minority here :).

Carrie also would have been great - I don't have the Gamespot connection with her having never used that site, but every time I have heard her on a livestream on GB she has been fun, intelligent and more than held her own so would have been good to see her.

This might be unfair because I don't know who they tried book but it seemed weird when there was so much good discussion about sexism on the site this year that the E3 livestreams were just a sausage party - but like I say I don't know what went on behind the scenes and the game industry still seems to be dominated by men.

Every time it repeats, I can only groove HARDER.

@rorie Thank you to you, and the crew for making E3 week even more entertaining with awesome coverage. I spent a substantial part of my work week watching the site, listening to the podcasts, and catching up on the videos, and it made my dull job go by much faster. Thanks for all the hard work, and damn if I am not more jazzed up than I have been in years.

Tom Clancy's The Division Looks so good! I actually can't wait till the next gen consoles come out!
