Could just be that I went into IV with high hopes after loving all the previous ones, only to just stop playing about 1/2 way through because it was boring. I'm just hoping I find this one more interesting.

Kinda annoying since we've had promotional material promising "Spring 2013" and I've been telling customers to set their sights on April/May. For me personally it's no problem though.

I don't know if I can handle a Rockstar game not coming out in Spring.

If it has a day one patch, people should flip.

It definitely seems more "San Andreas" feature packed and crazy if that was your issue. But it has a lot of unique stuff going on as far as the character switching.

Going to be very interesting.

HEY, ROCKSTAR!

When was the last time Rockstar put out a game in fall? Seems like it's been a while.

I was really counting on getting to play this soon, but I have a backlog of Humble Indie Bundle games to keep me going until September. I'm really excited to get the next great sandbox games. That is my favored genre at this point by a wide margin.

Rockstar is probably the only company anymore I would buy any game from blindly and with no questions asked, doubly so when it comes to GTA. Take all the time you need guys.

So wonder how this release will affect the next-gen consoles? GTA5,regardless of what people think of the franchise is a MEGA seller and may possibly result in people holding off on a PS4/Next-Xbox when they can just spend $65 and get a MASSIVE game. It will be interesting to see what Sony/M$ does now. I still think we will hear about both consoles this year and they will release them Early 2014. To me, that is the smartest thing to do and you can get one more Chirstmas out of the current consoles

I will not be buying. It seems awfully cocky to release it 2 months or less before the new consoles. I mean they've earned the right to be a bit cocky, but you know what I mean. Every game they've made since IV has been way better that GTA. Except Max Payne...

Somehow I never can get used to people getting outraged by slight delays in game releases. Comes as a surprise every time. This is a surreal world we live in.

I was also expecting them to announce the delay was due to a possible PC release. No love from rockstar for the PC gamers but really we 're used to it by now. Hrmm hows the x-box emulator scene coming along these days?...

What? How is that "cocky", and why is it a reason to not buy the game?

It will probably also be released on the new consoles after a time, you know.

GTA 5 is coming out May 2014.

Looks like TOMB RAIDER is the only awesome spring game I'm getting WOOT!

You don't know when the new consoles are going to be released. And they're not cocky for choosing a release date that best suits them.

What they mean is, we need the extra time to port it to the PS4 and the new Xbox.

That's my guess.

Cos why would they release one of the biggest franchises in gaming, on old systems, when the new thing just came out.

This game will be coming out on both new and old consoles.

Hopefully this game has more to do than GTA IV, which was just half-decent driving, okay gunplay, and lame minigames. Though throwing grenades out of the car like Mario Kart items was fun. But yeah bring back the bicycle/BMX.

Ok, let me elaborate on my opinion.

I think that both the PS4 and the new Xbox will be fully revelead before E3, in E3 they will talk about all the launch games and features, and then they''ll both be out by september.

Microsoft has been ready to go for a long time, Sony is now letting everyone know that they're ready as well, and i don't believe they will make the same mistake that Nintendo did, by announcing the console this year and only releasing it next year, cos look at what happened to Nintendo, even though the sales of the Wii had been going down, they were still selling a good number of units, but when they announced the Wii U, in a blink of an eye, the wii just fucking dissapeared.

The 360 and even the PS3, are still selling very well, so, why would sony and microsoft deliberately cut down their sales for a wholle year?

In this economy, that's economic suicide.

I bellieve they are smarter than that.

Not to mention, ppl have less and less patience these days, again look at what happened with nintendo, with the launch of the Wii U, it was, in my opinion, the most uneventful launch of console in gaming history.

Where was the excitement?

It was gone a few months after they revelead the console, when it finally launched, even the ppl ppl that went to buy it day one, were just there because it was the new thing, there was no excitement.

That's why i think that both consoles will have to be out, at max, 3 months after E3.

And Rockstar confirming this release date, just tells me that they don't want to blow the hype of their biggest property, by releasing their game in May on current consoles, and then releasing it for the new consoles in September, when the ppl buying the new consoles will want to buy new games, instead of a game that came out 4 months ago, that they probably already played on their old consoles.

I'm glad they are holding off for a later release. I'm just working on my backlog anyway. Not buying any new games until the NextGen console crap-dust settles. I want to find out if my 360 games are going to be backwards compatible to the 720(?) or if my boots will be walking away from Microsoft.

On a side note, that new Duder they have for GTA looks like the Hologram Doctor from Star Trek Voyager...
