Here's Your Great Big Update On Fallout: New Vegas DLC

Dead Money coming soon to PC, PSN. Three more packs coming to everyone!

Well, that was fast: The window of Xbox Live exclusivity is closing on the first Fallout: New Vegas add-on this Feb. 22, 2011. Bethesda has just confirmed that "Dead Money" will be coming to PSN and PC on this date, and that three more DLC packs, all slated to hit in the coming months, will be released simultaneously across all three of the RPG's platforms.

The Bethesda blog entry about this news leaves much to be desired. No prices were announced, nor were other details about the three additional DLC packs noted.

From what I understand, Dead Money was a tad on the underwhelming side, as it pulled an Operation Anchorage and took away all of your equipment, and then didn’t offer much in return with its narrative or its unique items or enemies. That in mind, I have to ask: are you still up for more New Vegas DLC?

Bit harsh on Dead Money. I thought it was awesome and way better than Operation Anchorage. They spent a lot of time creating a really cool isolated story; so what if you don't get PHAT LEWT at the end?

Don't see why they didn't just come out and say that the three expansions are called "Honest Hearts", "Lonesome Road" and "Old World Blues". I'm always impatient on DLC news for Fallout, but I really liked Dead Money (took a bit of getting used to though). Looking to be a better start than Fallout 3's DLC.

NV has been patched pretty extensively at this point. I haven't experienced any major problems.

@sizu: I'm with you here, I like some parts of Fallout, the narratives aren't bad and some of the characters can be interesting.  But the combat and core gameplay bore me to tears, and the narrative isn't SO good as to compensate for that.

Just haven't found the series so immersive since Fallout 2 really.

I'm up for New Vegas content as long as it extends the actual experience of the main game in some way or another. Raising the level cap is great, but I want to play after the main story.

I'm Fallout mad: I expect I will play Dead Money as soon as it is released on PC, despite it's lukewarm reception on the 360. I've already invested so much time in that game. If the prices are the same as the Fallout 3 DLC on Steam ($4.99/£3.99) that's fine by me.

I'd love some DLC but the thought of it does make me slow down playing the main game. I don't want to get to the end and then continuesly play these sidequests.

I also don't want them to drop the ending concept threw an update. I know it would be a big job, but I'd rather the DLC tell a sidestory with a new character.

Already traded in New Vegas.  If this has been released a month ago on PS3 like it was for 360 then I would have kept it but I didn't hear good things about it and the dlc for Fallout 3 was only decent at best.

Cool. This is how it should have been from the start.

Timed exclusive DLC is such a stupid idea. You think I care if 360 gets some extra content slightly sooner than the PC, PS3 platforms enough to buy your system? ... really?

I bought New Vegas on Ps3 almost as a protest to exclusive DLC and kinda chuckled that the first was as bad as it was.  I'll wait and see what comes of the other DLC before I decide to buy or not.  New Vegas was slightly underwhelming for me compared to 3 so who knows...

I really liked the writing, characters and atmosphere in Dead Money. Wasn't too fond of the trial-and-error gameplay, though.

I loved the game, but I can honestly say I don't even remotely anticipate this dlc. Hopefully they'll come up with something I'll enjoy along the lines.

I don't get it either, what I've heard about the plot arc of the dlc is the reason I'm going to mess with them. Less is not more here!

And I feel bad for Dead Money getting the wrap it does, if it is stealth then that is how I play :D Also part of why I was happy with Anchorage, the dlc was fun enough and I loooove that suit. Mind my copy of F3 is GOTY, so I did pay less. But still, liked it.

Guess with Dead Money I'll have to see myself when it hits ps3

Still need to finish the original F NV game, after having to start over with messing up a few choices on what to do with the familes on the strip just been occupied with other games, glad to see they are updating it still. Hopefully the other DLC will be the same amount of fun as most of the DLC was for Fallout3.

Too late. Decided I needed to reclaim some valuable SSD drive space, and uninstalled several weeks ago. They lost at least one sale to exclusivity. Ah well...
