I still don't know what to make of flower. While I can't discount the game's beauty, the whole experience felt a bit gimmicky to me. Still, with videogames it's very rare to put something out that's a bona-fide different experience and flower certainly was that. The game's designer, Jenova Chen, did a short bit on NPR over the weekend that's a fun listen if you're into indie game development or just like hearing stories about connecting games with nature... or something.
