EDIT: Man, I'm really bummed out now that it wasn't real. But I kinda felt that it's some sort of pitch for a movie.

I knew it was too good to be true.. DAMMIT QUEST!

That's really disappointing. But I guess it would be cool if this movie gets made and ends up being as awesome as that video.

Still, it would be bitchin if they made a movie similar to that short. 
Slightly sad that it's just a pitch but who knows what will happen.

Well, I guess Warner could still become interested and make it so at least this isn't as disappointing as it seems

i said this yesterday, but in my opinion, this might end up biting the game in the ass. Even tho some people didnt like it, the majority seemed (at least to me) to be really into the new look and direction, if it was for the game. When MK9 is announced, and its just yellow and blue ninjas all over again, people might get really deflated (i know I would be). It just went from amazing marketing to possible mistake very fast :/

I kind of feel bad for the people making the new MK game, whatever they show will undoubtably look disappointing in comparison to the people who want this kind of reboot (myself included). If they were planning on showing the game next week, I wonder if they're second guessing it.

When it comes to call-backs, no one is more authentic than Giant Bomb.

If they decline this and then proceed to churn out something like She's Out Of My League, there'll be a CAT 5 Chimp-out in this household.

Bummer. This could have been something awesome whether be a game or movie. 

Don't see this being sucessful.  The Halo ones were far more impressive, more proffessionally done and even created more of a buzz.  It still seems like nobody is willing to take on a high budget, serious take on a videogame.

While it looked very cool, and would have made a good movie.
I'm somewhat relieved it wasn't for the game.  Removing a lot of the mysticisim elements I don't know would have worked too well in the game..  I really want to see the series start again from scratch.  But I'd also like Sub-Zero to remain the awesome ninja he's always been.

Nothing is more authentic than a Mortal Kombat 9 trailer.

I really liked the more realistic tone to it. 
Kinda like Nolan's take on Batman. 

Damn that was the most excited I had been for anything MK in years. In fact I think that 7 minute clip was far better than both MK movies. And it was fan made! Although I have to wonder what kind of budget they had for this.

A seven-minute clip of cool shit doesn't make a good movie.  Even if it turned out to be a film, I wish people would shut the fuck up about "wanting a new MK movie!" 

Mortal Kombat does not have a good enough storyline to be a movie.  It's good for video games.  A fighting video game, no less.  There's nothing spectacular about it aside from the characters; no real story arc.  If this does find itself into a film, it will be horrible, just like nearly every other video game movie ever made.  It's the same reason why Street Fighter stuff (even all the animated stuff with one lone possible exception) is so bad.  The story works as a means to move a fighting game along, but it's not any more than that.  This film would be panned and slaughtered and with good reason. All the fans clamoring for it now will come on here and say "Too bad they couldn't follow through with that seven-minute clip of cool shit!"  But there was nothing to follow through on.   That seven-minute clip of cool shit was the entirety of what live-action Mortal Kombat should be.

Seemed like it could have actually been a cool game. Too bad :(
