Please Keep Buying Guitar Hero Games

If we all work together, we can stop the Guitar Hero movie menace dead in its tracks.

In case you missed it, Brett Ratner, the slimy looking dude responsible for directing movies like Rush Hour, Rush Hour 2, and Rush Hour 3 was recently quoted as saying he wanted to make a Guitar Hero movie.

I believe, at the time, I was all "what?" I mean, sure, I see how you could take Guitar Hero and turn it into some sort of rags-to-riches story where a kid gets really good at playing Welcome to the Jungle in a video game and then has to fill in for Slash at the last minute at an actual concert because Slash is too high/drunk/dead. Success ensues and the virtual guitarist becomes a real rock star! Because we all know that playing Rock Band or Guitar Hero is JUST LIKE THE REAL THING.

Anyway, Defamer was at the MTV Video Music Awards last night and took some time with Ratner to ask him a bit more about it. He (probably correctly) hypothesizes that Activision would never let him do it while the series is still such a success.

I don't know about you, but that was enough to make me file a pre-order for Guitar Hero: World Tour.

Check out Defamer for a video of the interview. Check out any retailer that sells video games to go buy Guitar Hero: World Tour and do your part for the cause.
