Showcase Showdown #2

Ryan and Jeff score a free couch off Craigslist and order some new gear for the podcast.

Despite the lack of actual content clawing its way onto the site today, it’s been another busy day here in the bomb shelter (note: we don’t actually call it that.) We continue living la dolce vita with the acquisition of the fabulous new couch featured above, courtesy of craigslist and hippies. It kind of stinks like incense, but it’ll make a perfect addition to our burgeoning basement-rec-room area, and it’s reasonably comfortable.

On our way back from picking up the couch, we stopped at one of those Taco Bell/KFC monstrosities that had obviously been shoehorned into its lot, as there was a drive-thru door instead of a window, and the dude had to walk out of the building to the passenger side of the vehicle to take cash and give food. Madness!

Beyond that, Jeff’s been playing lots of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, pausing occasionally to curse loudly whenever he dies. I started digging into Condemned 2: Bloodshot, which is already scurrying past its predecessor with its capacity for both brutal insanity and brutal brutality. This is definitely a game I’ll have trouble playing in the dark, big sissy that I am. I’ll be writing more about that in a little bit.

Let’s see, what else? Ordered some fresh gear for the podcast, so hopefully next week I won’t perforate your eardrums when I pop my P’s, and started figuring out what we’re going to need for studio space and equipment. Jeff set up a Skype Pro account, which resulted in nearly as much cursing as SSBB, and I discovered that it takes longer to write three emails at once than to just write three emails one at a time. It’s crazy how the days fly by when you’re juggling so many different things. It truly couldn’t be any more different from my past work experiences.

Apparently while I was writing this post, Jeff put together a Giant Bomb fan page on Facebook, so if you’re into all that Web 2.0 nonsense, have at it!
