The T-Club costs $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year, and gives you access to “exclusive discounts and content, premium Tetris Log challenges, and a booster to progress [your] Tetris Log faster.”

Seems like something that would be better suited to micro-transactions. You know: pay one dollar, get a line block.

It gives you access to a website where all of your moves are tracked and analyzed, and you get advice on how to better plan for the maximum number of tetrises (tetri?). Except the site will have a godawful amount of traffic and won't work for a couple of weeks and EA will give you a free month.

It will go free to play in 6 months and I'll feel ridiculous for buying that lifetime subscription

This would make more sense on a version of Tetris The Grandmaster, you know a version that actual pro players play. A casual version for a touch screen devices doesn't need stat tracking.

They are just now getting the award? I thought it was when they took down most of their Steam supported games, or when they made Origin when it never needed to exist, and actually hurts the customer by pretty much forcing them to create yet another account for yet another game for absolutely no reason other than to play BF3 on PC, or when they admitted the only reason they started new IPs like Mirrors edge and dead space was because they knew the money wasn't mainly in sequels anymore.
