The Community Spotlight 2022.05.21

We love bad decisions over here at The Community Spotlight.

Welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! I, @zombiepie, am honored to be your host as we look back at the best community-created works from the previous week. With the warmer weather starting to kick into high gear, we are edging perilously closer towards the perennial "Summer Game Drought!" However, that does not mean the site will stop belting out awesome content. As many of you are already aware, Jess and Jan wrapped up another successful season of Run for the Hills! If you are wondering what other shows can fill the void until the third season, remember to check out the Programming Schedule and Show Notes page which gets updated at the start of every week!

In case you were wondering what warming up an IP address might entail.

In terms of pleasant surprises, Rorie went ahead and published a review on the site for Horizon Forbidden West, but you'll have to catch it on the game's user reviews section. If you have been asking for ore written-based staff content, then this should be right up your alley.

Finally, some of you have been asking about the state of the Giant Bomb newsletter. If you have not received one in a while, be aware, the newsletter has not gone out in a while. The site recently switched email providers and the marketing emails aren't set up yet to send a newsletter. Rorie revealed on the Discord that RedVentures is still warming up the IP address for the newsletters which means he has to send emails every day for 20 days to a steadily increasing number of people. The good news is that there should be some new newsletters from staff in a few weeks, but this new system has taken a few months to set up. With that in mind, let's jump into the Spotlight!

I Played Fuse In 2022 Because I'm A Dummy. It's Just As Generic And Boring As Everybody Says. (By: @bigsocrates)

It might not look like much, but apparently this has the makings of pure video game torture.

bigsocrates has been playing games on Game Pass outside of the ones they curate for Giant Bomb's Game Pass Game Club, and Citizen Sleeper is one such game! Read all about why they found it absolutely captivating! They also checked out Strider 2 and pens how it still holds up remarkably well and why it is a perfect example of a less-reported game that should be available on Sony's new PS+ classics program. Finally, they capped off their week with a long session with Fuse, Insomniac Games' oft-forgotten multiplatform release during the 7th generation of consoles.
