Tomb Raider Reboot To Be Revealed In Game Informer

Rumor no more! The long-rumored Tomb Raider reboot will unveiled in the December issue of Game Informer.

As speculated, the next Tomb Raider game will be unveiled in this coming issue of Game Informer magazine, publisher Square Enix announced this morning. Digital Game Informer has since released the cover art for said issue, which shows a battered and gashed Lara Croft with a bow slung over her right shoulder. You can also see a ravaged ship in the distance and dark storm clouds above.

Long-time Tomb Raider developer Crystal Dynamics will be heading up the project, which will probably be a reboot of the franchise. According to a Square Enix, this game (simply titled "Tomb Raider") will feature a "young and inexperienced" (as well as an "ordinary") Lara Croft who "finds out just how far she must go in order to stay alive" after her ship wrecks on a beach.

"Forget everything you knew about Tomb Raider," said Darrell Gallagher, head of Crystal Dynamics in a press release. "This is an origins story that creates Lara Croft and takes her on a character defining journey like no other."
