This sounds like a title for a Kotaku article, you don't need to tell us who CDP is in the title Patrick, a link to the site's own wiki is good enough.

This is absolutely incredible news. It also pleases me to hear that they're recruiting a new team lead by veterans who worked the Witcher IP; this ensures quality while also promises that the original team will continue their work on continuing the Witcher saga with a third installment in the series. Highly unsurprising considering how the second game ended, particulary so after the added CG film that came with the Enhanced Edition of the second game.

While I admittedly don't want this game nearly as bad as The Witcher 3, I imagine it'll still be one of, if not THE, highlight of the year in which it's released. For now, mind, Imma' be very excited about "Dishonoured". Seriously, guys, if you like cyberpunk, check that game out.

Hardcore story-based RPG's are my jam.

And really our worlds diverged in like 1990. At the very least Cyberpunk 2013 was the first edition, so we are one year away from street samurai loaded with cyberware, hackers plugging into decks, and AV's patrolling our city streets.

As part of their Spring conference, the CDProjekt guys brought out Mike Pondsmith, who apparently created the pen n' paper RPG, if that means anything.

Totally agree. Also, I've always thought that CD Projekt Red is one of the best names to ever grace a studio.

I'm automatically interested in any game with a cyberpunk style, but I've yet to come across one I really wanted to play. These guys have the reputation going for them at least, let's see what comes of it.

Yep!! Paranoia was crazy!! I still wish someone would make a game based on Palladium's Rifts, though. That has to be my favorite pen & paper RPG. Glitterboys and Juicers?? Yes, please!

I like the cyberpunk idea but I want steampunk.

I don't get how anyone can say that The Witcher 2 on the default difficulty is too hard. Been playing through it lately, and to be honest I had a harder time with Skyrim. Probably gonna do a run on a harder difficulty after I finish it. Loving that game to death! Best RPG I've played in years.

I've thought for a while that Rifts was the only IP that HAD to be an MMO. Maybe not as they are currently constructed, but yeah I'd think as an overall meta structure it makes the most sense. Especially for studios that make more than one MMO. Just have characters running around destroying genre conventions left and right.

Thanks, I've been trying to find a more direct source. That pretty much seals the deal on it being Cyberpunk of the 20XX variety. But yeah now that it's mentioned, will this try and reconcile the obvious divergence in timeline or extend the "future" of the future. I cannot wait to play a pacifist Med-tech running around a game whose combat rules were in a chapter called Friday Night Firefight!

They are very talented. Cyberpunk games are needed. I have a feeling though that a lot of companies will catch on & we will see an excess of Cyberpunk games... I don't really mind though, cause I love the Cyberpunk & steampunk themes.

With a teal leopard-print jacket and at least one mech, I don't see how CDP can go wrong.

This is great news, and totally awesome, and other positive adjectives.

I hope whenever this comes out my computer can actually handle it, unlike the Witcher 2 (which I can finally play on high settings at a good framerate).

This is another team at CDPR. The other team is currently working on a "dark fantasy RPG" aka the Witcher 3.

Hopefully this will in turn make more people interested in the Shadowrun PnP, like the new game did as well.

Wait. This is based on Cyberpunk 2020? That's awesome. Cyberpunk 2020 is one of my guilty pleasures - that system is so terribly broken and fucked it makes for the greatest, most morbidly hilarious sessions ever.

OMFG I used to play this game. I stole it from my dad when I was a kid. Cyberpunk is awesome.

Sounds like a plan, and that plan is a game that I would be interested in.

I am very excited about this. I used to play Cyberpunk with some people I worked with. Had more fun with that game than any other pen and paper RPG, D&D included. Loved the fact that it didn't matter how badass your character was, a bullet to the head is still a bullet to the head with the exception of being full 'borg. In that case you instead had to deal with not going batshit crazy at the drop of a hat from lack or Humanity(read Essence for Shadowrun players). You might survive if you are well armored and even then it might not matter if it was a Dual Purpose round. So, yes. Very yes. CD Projekt Red, shut up and take my money.
