Query: Anyone know if this supports Dual Shock 4 on PC?

I'm running this on PC with and old X360 pad, but I would like to engage a little in the console hype and buy a DualShock 4 to play it on instead, but I can find no solid info on whether Assassins Creed 4 has native support for the new controller or not.

    Has anyone tried this successfully?

Highly unlikely, until Sony provides an official "PC controller kit" no developer is going to put money into developing for it.

Pretty sure there are no PC drivers for the DS4 yet.

Lol using the word Query just made me want to reply with null or return 0; hahaha.

I haven't tested it myself but I understand the DS4 does work on PC, however AC4 doesn't have native support for the controller on PC. I'm sure you can use the unofficial drivers people have made to just emulate it as a 360 controller if it doesn't get detected by the game as one already. Seems easy enough to set up, info here.

Lemme go see if it'll detect my PS3 controller without emulating it as a 360 controller, if it does then it'll just accept generic controller input and you'd be fine to just plug and play a PS4 controller.

EDIT: Nope it doesn't like PS3 controllers (A few games do support the unofficial PS3 drivers haha), so you'd have to emulate a 360 controller with the DS4. Maybe someone here can confirm whether it works or not, but that's my best guess.

You could use Xpadder or a program to emulate the 360 input, but you're not going to be able to use the touch screen or rumble until official drivers are released.
