A good-sized DLC pack for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood has been announced for the console versions of the follow-up’s follow-up. Slated to hit this March, “The Da Vinci Disappearance,” as its being called, adds some more campaign content and a bunch of new stuff for Brotherhood's online component.

The campaign portion of the DLC is something of a mission that’ll have Ezio attempting to find two paintings in order to discover the whereabouts of Da Vinci, who has been artist-napped by “an underground cult” called the Hermeticists. On his travels, Ubisoft is promising that he'll discover two new locations as well as two fresh, though unspecified, “gameplay features" (whatever that means). I should note that this takes place after the game's conclusion, so it'll be interesting to see how Ubisoft works this into the overall storyline.

     == TEASER ==As for the multiplayer additions, here’s a handy bullet-point list:

    • One new map called “Alhambra” -- described as a “lush environment set in Spain’s Albaicin of Granada.” Will have multi-leveled areas.
    • Four additional characters -- Dama Rossa, the Knight, the Marquis, and the Pariah
    • Two new modes -- Escort and Assassinate. Escort is your standard VIP affair; both teams are tasked with killing one special player while protecting their own. Assassinate is a DM mode for six-to-eight players.

    No Caption Provided

If you couldn’t tell, there’s no hard date on this content, but we do have a price. Ubisoft has confirmed that it’ll cost 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live Marketplace, which means the PSN version should also be priced at 10 bucks or so.

Anyone know if the multi-player is still going strong? I'm considering buying this (only rented it before) but I've already beaten the single player.

Actually a nice community has popped up for this game, tons of tips and tricks for newbs in the multiplayer. So, yeah I guess the multiplayer is still moving.

I'm somewhere between novice and intermediate (I think I hit 26...or 23...whichever level unlocks the first unlockable costumes) before I sent the game back, but thanks for the head's up. Is that on here or a different site?

@Undeadpool: I started playing a couple of weeks ago, and it's going pretty strong.

There's a couple of bugs that are annoying though. Sometimes you don't get another assassination target, which basically stops you from getting any points for the rest of the game, frustrating. Another is that can take a while to get in to a game. It gets stuck in the lobby quite a bit, not enough to stop me from playing.

@Undeadpool:@Burglarize:  I just barely started playing the multiplayer about a week ago, even though I've had the game since it came out. I hope that the community can still keep it going because it's incredible. Such a different dynamic than most MP games, you know? I bet with enough dudes, we could get a GiantBombing run some night. There's probably already a forum for it on here somewhere. Quick question, though: how the hell do you stun your attacker? I've tried mashing B when they get close and I've never gotten to work. What am I failing to do?

    Punch them in the Jaw.

They can't have you locked or even targeted for assassination. It's not a legitimate strategy to run up to them head on to stun them. If they're completely oblivious to you, you can stun them.

@billygoat117: As dancinginfenal says, if your attacker has already got you targeted, or has already pressed X (or whatever it is on the PS3) to stab you, then there's nothing you can do.

The only way to stun people is to get them before they notice you. It's harder than just killing your own target. A classic stun situation is to stand next to one of your clones, and if you get lucky your pursuer attacks the clone, immediately highlight the attacker and press B to stun to them.

Another way to stun pursuers is if you see your  attacker coming straight for you, try and throw down a smoke bomb as soon as they're in range. If you manage to catch them in the blast, before they pressed X to assassinate, then you can stun them with B.

I wouldn't go around chasing your own pursuer though,  they always have the advantage.

Some threads on the forums, there's a FAQ here that explain all the multiplayer stuff. And there are YouTube commentators that you can watch. There's TheSquiddish and Shenmue. There have some good tutorial vids and they have some high level Brotherhood play

@dancinginfernal:@Burglarize:  Ah.  Yeah, every time I tried it, I guess they already had a lock on me. In one instance, I had the camera swung around so I was walking toward the screen, and I could see my pursuer coming up behind my character. I really wish that in situations like that, you could actually do some kind of stun move or counter-kill. Like, "Gotcha, fucker!" Or something. I don't have smoke bombs yet, so I guess that'll have to wait.
