Overview
One of the first demonstrations of autostereoscopic 3D technology was Sega's Floating Image System in early 1997, presented by Sega AM3's general manager Hisao Oguchi (EGM, issue 93, April 1997, page 22).
Autostereoscopic 3D technology became available to the public with the release of the Nintendo 3DS handheld console in 2011.
