Once there was a Bear, a Bird, and a Car? 0

Banjo Kazooie is, or in some ways should be Microsoft’s platformer mascot. It’s a shame that this game and its characters aren’t the spectacle, or not anymore since the N64 days. But that shouldn’t stop you from getting the newest Banjo Kazooie game because Banjo Kazooie: Nut’s and Bolts is a fantastic game that’s well worth your dollar. To get everything out of the way for a second, Banjo Kazooie: Nut’s and Bolts is still platformer. It’s just one that is untraditional in a sense. You are sti...

Just hit it with a wrench! 0

Banjo and Kazooie have gotten lazy over the years. In their prime they were the top tandem of platforming, but now all they do is lounge around eating junk food, playing video games and getting fat. I suppose in some ways the platforming genre has taken the same lethargic path, and so Rare are looking to crank things up a gear, get their duo back in shape and change platforming as we know it. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is the first Banjo game in eight years, and since then a lot has change...

    A new approach 0

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is one of the best games to be released in this current generation.   It is rare to find a game that touches upon every category of merit so well but at the same time, is overlooked and underappreciated by many.   The game focuses on various challenges that must be completed using vehicles.   The catch is that while they provide the player with vehicles to complete these challenges, it is often best to build your own machines to conquer the tasks. N&B takes a ...

Here Kazooie, take this wrench. That's all you do now. 0

I recently was reminded of Nuts & Bolts by its TNT. Originally I had written it off because of the shoddy demo Rare released for it back in '08; the missions in the demo served only to destroy my interest in the game. TNT brought back that interest, and since picking up the digital download version I have practically fallen in love with the vehicle creation and the parts hunting in Showdown Town. So here's my late late review of Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.  AROOOOO!First thing, the stor...

Old meets new and creates something wonderful. 0

Banjo-Kazooie is a game that is near and dear to the hearts of many fans of the N64, so naturally, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts received a lot of attention.  What people may not have been expecting is that Nuts and Bolts holds firm very few of the standout characteristics of the old games, at least in terms of gameplay.  Of course the characters are all the same and the plot is similar, and it still has that crazy sort of silly humor, but when you really get down to what the game is all about, ...

    Nuts! 0

Banjo Kazooie has long been a charming platformer living under the shadow of Mario. Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts has come along to change all that. This is done in many ways with the major one being a change in gameplay.  Nuts and Bolts picks up with Banjo and Kazooie sat around eating pizza. Yes its deffinately an interesting start. Both of them have put on a lot of weight due to the fact they no longer have to foil Gruntilda's evil plots. This quickly changes when the Lord of Games (LOG) show...

It's the classic Banjo themes and charm... with a twist! 0

I love the Banjo Kazooie games on the N64, they were two of my favorite games back in the day and some of my fondest memories on the N64 are from those games. I was really excited to hear that there was another Banjo game in the works but, like many other Banjo fans, I was kinda disappointed with how much the game was going to change. Almost a year later I tried the game out... was it worth the trip?     StoryStarting off, we find Banjo and Kazooie at Spiral Mountain where they have grown overw...

User-generated content for the everyman 0

One of the recent "buzz phrases" in gaming has been the notion of user-generated content. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts is a follower of this idea, but perhaps not in the way you might initially think. It strikes a fine middle ground between a rigid mission structure and the freedom of vehicle building, the result of which is a stellar game that is easily recommendable to a wide audience. Most user-generated content games (such as Spore and LittleBigPlanet) provide seemingly limitless playgrounds...

A solid hit and great addition 0

A good chunk of us have played a Banjo-Kazooie game before and we all remember just running around, collecting whatever it told us to, and destroying anything in our way to beating up that annoying witch of a boss.So needless to say when I put in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, I have my expectations. But not high ones. These games have never been about perfect graphics and new features, but instead and mixture of comedy, adventure, new innovations, and lovable characters. And thats what Rare got...

Good on its own, but not as good a Banjo Kazooie game. 0

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is the latest entry in the Banjo Kazooie series, a series that dates back to the N64. Although it started as a platformer in the vein of Super Mario 64, the latest entry is more of a kart building game than a 3D platformer. And while the new gameplay mechanics do not make Nuts & Bolts any less a Banjo Kazooie game, they certainly do not make it a good one. In the eight years since their last adventure, the bird and bear duo have become fat and lazy. Grunty’s s...

    An absolute little gem 0

I really don’t think you can make a platformer anymore. I mean the market for this is so saturated you would never make a dime and critically trying to outdo Mario is insanity. That is why when Rare, the super talented guys who specialise in making family games for the 360, created the next entry in the much loved Banjo Kazooie series they changed genre. At surface level they made a kart racing game, which isn’t much better, but the genius, wit, creativity and overall quality makes for one of th...

An amusing and occasionally hilarious adventure 0

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts is the sequel to Banjo Tooie. However, while the previous installments in the franchise were platforming games in every sense of the word, this new Banjo Kazooie focuses on creating custom vehicles and then using them in various challenges peppered throughout the game worlds.Let your creativity run wild in the expansive vehicle builder The game starts out with Banjo and a chicken called Kazooie that lives in his backpack enjoying life. They are lazy and fat, but i...

Bear and Bird back on form 0

A sequel to Banjo Tooie was a long time coming, but it was well worth the wait. Nuts & Bolts cleverly integrates Lego style vehicle construction with entertaining mini-games complete with gaming satire. Nuts & Bolts doesn't hold the player by the hand, but it does offer huge depth and enjoyment for those willing to invest time in the vehicle editor. The silly multiplayer mini-games, and originality of everyone’s vehicle designs, make the online experience a real hoot.    ...

For the creative and fun types! 0

Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts is filled with great, colorful graphics, huge worlds, 100s of challenges, humor, funny characters, and it gives you the license to be absolutely crazy, or totally efficient in your vehicle designs. There is a huge variety of parts, engines, jets, sails, lasers, missiles, propellers, wings, 3 type of material (body parts) and each type of material has the following parts: Cube, wedge, corner, panel, T-panel, L-panel, pole, L-pole, and T-pole. The story mode is real...

If you like building things, this game is fantastic. 0

Remember the spaceship building from Kingdom Hearts?  Well if you liked that, this is the game for you.   This easily gets my vote for underrated game of the year.  The only reason I even knew about this game was because of the Bombcast.    I did spend hours tweaking my vehicles, trying to get them to be "just right".  Just beating the game should be very easy for most people, but each challenge a trophy associated with it as well and getting all of those can be VERY hard.    One of the coolest ...

A unique, yet ultimately disappointing return 0

Fans who had gone to the trouble of beating Banjo-Tooie back when it was released in 2000/2001 may understand how I felt prior to Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. After being promised a direct sequel to your favourite franchise and not seeing anything for the next five years, you tend to get a little worried. Naturally, when it was announced that Banjo was finally back in 2006, there was a lot of hype within the Banjo community about the next Banjo game. When the screenshots and video trailers u...

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts Review 0

Banjo and Kazooie are back again to battle the evil witch Gruntilda. It has been many years since the heroes have seen action, and all had been peaceful until Grunty's head shows up, and then some mysterious being called the Lord of the Games (or LOG) shows up. LOG wants a final showdown between the two adversaries and decides that in order to determine a winner Banjo will have to play through many many levels using items he finds along the way to build machines to help him collect the puzzle pi...

    Banjo Kazooie N&B 0

I had always liked platforming games. I had also liked racing, flying, and building games. And once I heard about this game I decided to try it. From the hilarious intro to the hundred plus missions, this has to be one of the best games of 2008. Amazingly i wasn't very excited about this game compared to other games, like COD WaW, Mecrs 2, or even others, but it turned out to be one of my favorites. Go buy it right now!!!...

The Bear and Bird are back after 10 years 0

That's right world, the Bear and Bird Duo known as Banjo and Kazooie are back in action. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts for the X-Box 360 is newest Banjo-Kazooie to come out in over 8 years. So what have the Bird and Bear Duo doing since there last outing? Acting like Nerds by just Eating Pizza and playing video games. Yes, they have been doing that for the last 8 years. When Grunty yet again comes back, all she is is a head. Out of no where, someone called Lord of Games (Or A.K.A L.O.G) comes,...

    Whimsical, magical, breathtaking... 1

It is hard to believe that nearly a decade has passed since RARE released a proper sequel to the Banjo Kazooie series. And if one thing has become apparent, it's that we've come quite far since the days of traditional Mario-influenced platforming. Originally conceptualized as an updated remake of the first game in the series (with a few modest tweaks), Banjo "3" quickly evolved into what would become an innovative shift in the way the team looked at the platform genre. And the changes, I'll have...

    I Am Builder! 1

Behold gamers, the most overlooked and underrated game of 2008. From top to bottom, a complete experience. For the small price that keeps dropping as I write this. You know what is the worst part about it? People wanted something else. Where Banjo succeeds, I can’t recall any other game doing. It could be how it looks, although it couldn’t look any better. It might be how it controls, although it couldn’t control any better. And it might not be a traditional Banjo game, although I don’t think i...
