Your Favorite Song from the Soundtrack?
Before listening to it away from the game I would probably have said one of the vocal tracks, but after listening to it just now I think I really like Spike in a rail the most.

I really like all the twangy tracks, but I went with Slinger's Song as my favorite.

Setting Sail, Coming Home (End Theme). It literally blew my fucking mind when I first heard it.
So true. The last time I got goosebumps listening to a song was from Final Fantasy X. This is why I love games like this. Its not always about the gameplay or the story; its the experience you have with it.
The violins in Bynn the Breaker remind me so much of the music in this one particular BBC advert, they sound almost identical.
The whole soundtrack is amazing. I'd say my favourites are Spike in a Rail and Setting Sail, Coming Home.
That is a difficult question. I adore the voiced tracks, especially "Setting Sail, Coming Home", as it uses elements of several songs. I also instantly fell in love with "A Proper Story" and "In Case of Trouble", as they remind me of the music from Deadwood. But after listening through the album a few times, I think the one I love the most is "Brusher Patrol". Love those guitar parts in that song. The sound is just awesome. And while typing this I just realized I mostly used the Brusher's Pike on my second playthrough. Funny that!
"Setting Sail, Coming Home" is probably the most memorable to me. The way it layers "Build that Wall" and "Mother, I'm Here" together was incredibly poignant. Combining the themes for both Zulf and Zia was a perfect musical metaphor for the ending I chose. While the story of Bastion is good and often clever, the plot is fairly standard, no offense to Greg. But the music supports and compliments the narrative so well that the cumulative effect is very moving.
Super hard question. Right now I'm digging "Mine, Windbag, Mine" the most. I love the pickaxe sound that is introduced toward the end. The vocal-including songs are fantastic, but to be fair to the instrumentals, I excluded them from consideration.
Do you think this will have much competition in 'best soundtrack 2011'?
Build That Wall... I mean c'mon, I got misty eyed the first time I heard it & hearing it again already evokes nostalgia.
