Yeah, I was RAGING when that happened. I had my finger over the reboot button on my comp.
 
I guess it was pretty well done, in retrospect.

Yeah, I thought my 360 had died the first time I saw that, too.  Damn clever move on the developers' parts, I think. ^_^

Yeah I thought something had happened for a second, but my trusty PS3 never fails me : D

I thought my ps3 ylod again, I turned off the console. However the second play through I realised it was part of the game.

Same here, i played it on my PC and i thought my graphics card overheated on me. If I was playing it on 360 I might have pissed my pants believing i got the RROD. haha

No cause the same shit happened to me during the Psycho mantis fight in MGS

i didn't know that was on purpose cause i rented it so i figured it was just the disc. that's cool haha.

I thought it was part of the story, then it kept going... So I almost lapped it up until I saw Batman in the back. Phew.

I was disappointed, thinking that the game was bugging up so I was just about to take the disc out of my 360 and clean it up but when it kept on going and I saw the inverted Batman symbol on the moon, I knew it was supposed to be happening.  It never even occurred to me that it was the Scarecrow again until Batman rose from his grave.
 
I love parts like those in video games.  Especially when it totally catches you off guard in a game that's not based around the concept of fucking with the player's mind like Batman: AA.  Games that do something like this that immediately come to mind are: Eternal Darkness, several Metal Gear Solid games and Batman: AA.  I'd like to see this concept used more frequently and more effectively.

I didn't think the game was broken, since I knew it was a Scarecrow part because Batman started coughing. I was really pissed when I thought I died when the Joker shot me. I sat there for a minute going "WTF Middle trigger?" and looking at my controller frantically.

Can't stand people like what? There's no denying the fact that both MGS and Eternal Darkness did this trick way before Arkham Asylum... yet people are applauding this game for using a decade old mechanic. I'm not saying this game didn't use it well... but it's annoying me more that alot of people aren't even recognising the fact that this is in no way unique. "

Pretty smart I guess, considering they were 'playing on your fears' or whatever, but I'd say I felt enraged rather than scared.

yes a lot, my 360 got RROD like two weeks before that, and i was playing it(batman:aa) with a 2 days old ps3 slim so i was like "OH GREAT JESUS JUST KILL ME PLZ" but then...

Oh yeah, I totally thought my PS3 crapped out or something. I also enjoyed the MGS2, Fission Mailed like fake death.

This very forum ruined that for me, I read a topic on it, so when it came around I was like oh gee.

It caught me off-guard even more because I took the higher route (above the main path) for that one section, and I thought I had somehow b0rked the game. :D
