After having played Remember Me i wondered if it were possible to beat Arkham City without doing any counters. I'm sure there are some specific areas where you're forced to counter but I was just a bit curious. And no i don't think Remember Me even comes close to any of the batman games, but this is a very sensible community, doubt anyone would resort to saying such a thing.

Beat without countering
I did it for the first one because I missed the tool tip about countering. I just dodged most of the time.

I think its perfectly viable. The dodging over an enemy acts as a stun anyways.

No. I just treated the counter indication as a dodge indication.
I only countered a few times, and I did just fine with it. And hey, I'm truly awful at video games, so that should give you an idea of its necessity.
That sounds rather easy considering how much more integral and fast the dodge/flip is by comparison to the counter.

If you mean the movie, then that is literally impossible.
@immortalsaiyan: I mean I'd like to try it, to see if I can do it.

As in "there's a button to blink".

I liked playing on hard mode because countering is harder to do. I just not one who enjoys limiting my options in game for the sake of a challenge, I enjoying using what is available to me. I bet it would be a challenge, so do it up and see how it goes.
@duminakan89: Dodge is much more reliable than countering in Arkham so of course you can; it's even recommended to do the challenge rooms with only minimal use of counters since they're not precisely reliable; though that's much less engaging then trying to use counters to your advantage.

It's also dead boring. I like playing the challenge maps for points but counters are awesome so I'll still use them.
But yeah, Dodges are OP in Arkham City. It's very hard to be hit after a dodge by most enemies.
@samdrugbringer: Yup, I always used counters and it was much more fun doing so. Should note having done them in reverse order the Arkham Asylum challenge rooms were an absolute joke compared to doing the Arkham City ones + Catwoman; also perfect combo is so damn easy in the first game.
@fredchuckdave: Yeah, it's funny going back to AA because after AC everything in the game is pretty much dead simple.
And Catwoman, ungh. Don't get me started on Catwoman. I still need to do her campaigns (Stupid predator maps without a cape suck) to S rank that game (Not that this site tracks that anymore...)
@samdrugbringer: Top of the World is basically luck based and takes ~15 minutes to do, though you can reliably kill 3 or 4 guys out of the 8; for the campaigns you'll have pretty shitty conditions for it as well like no Gargoyles/no HP so it really does take forever; you sort of just have to zone out and relax while doing her campaigns or you'll inevitably get extremely irritated. On the bright side if you jump off a balcony on the tower and hit R1 to recover with the whip it looks fucking incredible and feels awesome every time.
