    Overview

Battle of the Bands is a motion-based rhythm game developed by Planet Moon and published by THQ for the Nintendo Wii on April 21, 2008.

Playing similar to the Guitar Hero and Rock Band series of games, Battle of the Bands pits two players head-to-head with their chosen bands (each personifying different music genres). The game focuses on the Wii Remote's motion control and does not represent playing a specific musical instrument. Players use special power-ups to "attack" their opponents and increase their difficulty.

The game features cover versions of 30 licensed songs of multiple genres, with five unique variations of each song: Rock, Hip-Hop, Country, Latin, and Marching Band. During each match, the game changes the variation dynamically based on the genre of the winning band.
