I got battlefield 2 about 5 months ago because it was on sale....
I have no other expansions for it, but is there still people online who i could play against?

Ive seen this project reality mod thing, maybe i could try that mod because it doesnt seem to require anything but the original game. Anyone know anything about it?

If you don't mind getting destroyed by the super dedicated fan base who have mastered the game a la crazy Quake III Arena fans, then sure, go for it.  The game's still beyond awesome.

Game also has weapon unlocks that last I played took a VERY long time to unlock, so there will be lots of people owning you with weapons way better than what you have.

Well i bought the game and never actually played it so is orta gotta try at least.
 Also project reality has helicoptor insertions. That should be a game in and of itself, seriously a game where you just get in and out of helicopters sounds sweet to me... check it out on youtube if you dont already know about

I played this last night for the first time in ages last night and just got owned all over the place, its so unforgiving and very noob unfriendly, it really put me off battlefield 1943

I wonder how ridiculously owned I would be trying to fly a helicopter in BF2 now. I managed to be a very good pilot for a while, but last I played people seemed to have gotten really good with TV guided and wire-guided missiles. I'm afraid they're cyborg-like at this point.

I did manage to unlock every gun but the multi-peashooter 7 and spam-90 when I was playing.

Sounds rough lol BF 1943 i forgot about.....

I was addicted to that game.  It's so much fun still.  I stand by my belief that the M16 is the best weapon in that game. 

I remembered how different Battlefield is from Call of Duty so maybe the transition wont be so easy. Should be fun though

if you mind getting owned then no, its not worth playign.

Yeah it's definitely still fun to play but sometimes you run across those players that can own everyone with a jet

Totally worth playing. I still play it and I think it is still one of the best online first person shooters that exists. There is still a lot of people who play in it and I don't have the expansions. The mods seem to be cool, I haven't tried any of those.
