    Broken down into four segments:

Specialists will be reworked into classic Battlefield Class systems inSeason 3.

Shared traits between specialists of a given class (Mackay and Sundance in Assault, for example).

Existing gadgets and throwables are split between classes to fit their role.

Specialists are not being REMOVED but reorganized.

Specialists are becoming more "gritty" in appearance, expression and tone. (Aka, they scowl).

BF3's M16A3 and M60E4 LMG at the start of S2, along with other weapons. More being added over the course of the season.

    Maps

Renewal and Orbital are being reworked like Kaleidoscope. Renewal in Sept, Orbital in Oct.

Smaller, infantry-focused map coming in Season 2.

Pre-release this is exactly how I thought specialist were going to work, and the tone disconnect has been really jarring.

2042 base maps are so bad and flipping massive for no reason. Hopefully support continues to at least fix them all, Orbital is one of the better ones would rather that was last though.

I doubt 1 map and 3 new guns every 3 months is enough to bring a significant number of players back, I really do miss premium.

It's really going to take a complete re work of the whole game for me to go anywhere near this. I was a massive fan of BC2, battlefield 3 and 4, and then they lost me after that.

My experience with 2042 was truly awful. The whole thing felt like the skeleton of a game. The class / whatever system was so all over the place. The weird gun rosette thing that you use to equip attachments etc was distracting and I had no clue whether anything I did had any tangible effect on the gun. The whole in game UI was bizarre.

And the maps... Load into a game, spawn on your squad. Two of them get sniped from seemingly 3 miles away immediately. Run for ten minutes trying to find a vehicle. Granted that would happen in older games, but this one took it to a whole new level. Deal with getting random damage from the 50 snipers potshotting you every few seconds. Eventually die in a massive open space and respawn and do it all again.
