Guys from RockPaperShotgun revealed very fascinating theory that if your level in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is 30 or higher you can get an Alpha Key for Battlefield 3 by following this page. Anyway, I followed and after a few easy steps they gave me the key. Are there more lucky duders out there?

Battlefield 3
Game » consists of 15 releases. Released Oct 25, 2011
Battlefield 3 is DICE's third numerical installment in the Battlefield franchise. It features a single player and co-operative campaign, as well as an extensive multiplayer component.
Anyone got the key? 'Cause I did!
I've never played a bad company game before and I just got sent one...I didn't even know I had an EA account...cool I guess.
Damn it, I knew I should have played more BC2...
I think I'm level 14 or something right now, and there is no way I'll be able to get up to 30 before this thing is over...
Oh well, if anyone has a spare key, I'll gladly accept it.
Yes, that's right, I'm a beggar now.
I did a little detective work and found that several people with 10- ranks in BC2 got keys, so nope, we still don't know what that damn required criteria is..
it's not veteran status rank, or BC2 rank, it's nothing!
Anyway, congratz on your key! use this thread to gang up with other Giant Bombers in the alpha trial

There's no alpha trial on the consoles if you're waiting for a key to one, dudeYeah i got it too, shame its for PC though, no way is my laptop good enough to play it
So you're the one who can write a PM at the speed of light, huh?I would like to thank @Jothel for giving me his code!
I shall now have to isolate myself and have a lengthy training montage so that I can beat you next time!
Didn't meet them either... So yeah if anyone out there would like to get rid of their key, I will glady do that.
I'm lvl 38, I'm a newsletter subscriber and veteran status 5. So consider yourself just lucky. I went to that page and it pretty much said i don't meet the criteria.Yeah, I have veteran status and level 36 in BC2. Still don't meet the criteria.
I just got an e-mail from EA with a download code because they believe I have a great interest in the Battlefield series. So I'm guessing they sent me one because I have Bad Company 2 on PC, and probably because I have Medal Of Honor as well.
I have installed BFBC2 for 5 minutes. Played the campaign for 2. Never played multiplayer. "As one of our valued and trusted Battlefield players..." what? Are they just giving this away to everyone now?
With how wide the invites are going out I feel like the exclusivity thing is a ruse to just get people to try Origin. Sure, they're testing and stressing their servers which is the whole point of this Alpha but to say its closed and only for specific fans and then invite almost anyone who owns a battlefield game or something is just silly.
Runs like total ass on my 8600 GT, unable to get any kills from the crappy performance, but hey, i got in..
my 580 GTX can't get here soon enough!

I'm lvl 35 on the PC with a Veteran status of 7. I also pre-ordered Medal of Honor and have over 13 badges in their crappy Gun Club. You're guaranteed early access to the beta around September 20th
I didn't get shit.

Usually pre-alpha isn't a time for stress testing servers, so I also am curious why so many people are getting codes.

It is what they said as the reason for the alpha, in my invite email.

We're sorry, you don't meet the requirments.
Although it sounds more like a how many battlefield games you own and less what your level is.
I own 2 battlefield games (that are registered) and am about level 3 in bc2. I didn't expect to get in.
I bought Bad Company 2 in a steam sale and played the single player once for five minutes and managed to get an invite. All current theories have to be wrong.

Wait ignore that, Ahmed pointed it out haha :D
Damn it. I didn't get in. My rig was built for this game and I was really looking forward to seeing what it can do.
I own BF2, BFBC2 on all consoles, BF 1943, BFBC1 on 360, BFBC2:Vietnam on PC, level 20+ on both consoles for BFBC2, 27 on PC on this EA account and I didn't qualify :( Edit: Oh, also played both the free Battlefield games for awhile. We're sorry, you don't meet the requirments.

I'm very bitter towards those of you who don't really care about the game that got invites. Grr.
@xobballox: Same here. I've been playing since 1943 and on BC2 on 360, PS3, and PC. I am a huge BF fan, sunk about 500 hours into the franchise across all platforms. I guess I should have just stuck to one platform, or bought that hunk of crap that was MOH.
Sour grapes for sure.
I loved MOH. I have it on PC. But just my luck, I got the digital edition from amazon and it's not the LE that is supposedly required for access to the BF3 beta.@xobballox: Same here.
