you know its kind of fun being a Medic. i mean ignoring your gun all together and just running around zapping people back to life. Sure its a good way to get points. but besides that. its extremely satisfying to to run into a hail of gun fire to go save a few guys who went down. hanging back at choke points to keep your guys alive so they can keep the fire on the current objective. anyone else try playing as only a Medic sometimes?

MEDIC!
Yep I did the same thing in BC2. When you are being awesome and just running around the battlefield dodging bullets keeping everyone alive you feel like Jesus.
Altho to be fair it was even more overpowered and gave out even more points in BC2, due to maps being more focused and having more chokes. You could also revive people infinitely as long as you got to them in time, unlike BF3 where there is no coming back after 2-3 revives.
Medics can also be the worst teammates when they decide it's a good idea to revive you in front of 6 enemies.
Medics can both be great and horrible, unfortunately I seem to get mostly the horrible kind on my team. Either they don't resurrect you at all or they get you back up just as everyone are getting gunned down by the enemy...

So true, i really hate it when that happens. I hate it just as much as your dead all alone, and a medic runs by, and your thinking oh damn that was lucky now i can get back to the fight... but no, the fucker just runs past your coprse.

Thankfully in BF3 you don't loose anything when that happens bar a couple of seconds.
Well except the medic is now probably dead by that's his/her own fault :)
Some people can get furious when you follow them arround and revive them all the time. I always see to that the immediate danger is cleared, by me or someone else, before reviving.
Also, some people are counting on dying to get ammo. Wich is a bit lazy, in my opinion. Find a support and keep on fighting.
@pornstorestiffi: To be fair, he might not have paddles.
Then again, to me, playing assault without paddles would be INSANE. Love dem paddles. Even if they make me do stupid things when I see someone getting shot down :D

But when the medic icon is shown on the player, he does have paddles? or am i wrong.
@pornstorestiffi: That's a good question!
If you mean the white cross in a box that you sometimes see - I always assumed that was "needs healing", as it tends to disappear shortly after I drop a medkit at their feet. The simple cross I thought was just the assault icon (like engineers have a wrench, support have 3 bullets, recon a crosshair). I've not noticed any specific icons while I was "dying."
Then again, I'm far from an expert on the subject, so I could very well be wrong - just been my feeling that there was no indication who had medkits or paddles.
I liked being medic more in BF2. Throwing med packs on dead enemies while your duder is yelling "First aid, here!" and "Need first aid?" was great. Medic and BF3 itself just isn't as fun for me. That and it's hard being a solo medic with the abundance of vehicles in BF3. At least in BF2 tank gunners were exposed which isn't the case for BC2 or BF3.
