What's up glorious PC gamers (and console gamers who are lurking), 
 
Now that it's been confirmed that jets are in the game, let's talk about what fighter jet's we'd like to see.  I know BF2 didn't have that many, if I remember correctly I think it only had one or two.   I feel that BF3 should focus on more jets as a way to make up for lost time.  So here's a good list of Jets. 
 
USA Military 

• F-16 Falcon - This is the base plane for the US Air Force, and other military branches.  It's what reinvented the way fighter jets work, so it's only fitting that this is the plane that new flyers should start off with.  It's a solid all-around-jet, that can help people learn how to use the basic mechanics.

• F-18 Hornet - After the flyer gets some kills and does some objectives, this should be the next logical step as it's a faster plane and focuses more on fighter-to-fighter.  This is also the middle level plane as it requires far more skill compared to the F-16.

• F-22 Raptor - Yo, this plane is invincible.  It has never been shot down, and is the world's most powerful plane, ever.  It's the hight of American power, and only the top 10% or so should be allowed to use this out of all the flyers.  Yo, this is the world's greatest plane and proof that the US Military is un-stopable.

• Panavia Tornado - It's a solid jet fighter that is comparable to the same level F-16 pilot.  I don't know much else about it.

• Eurofighter Typhoon - It's a decent plane.

• Su-34 - Confirmed in the trailer, so it's in it.    

• F-35 Lightning II - The only plane that the EU/Russians have that can try to compare with the F-22, it's a solid next-generation fighter jet.  I'm not a fan, and think the F-22 is better (which it is).  

Dude, F-16 is old. And the chinese do actually already have level 5 stealth fighters. 
 
Oh and obviously the A-10 should be in it.

I think maybe people are putting to much emphasis on Jets and not on all vehicles. What I really don't to see is a small number of vehicles and then jets tacked on.

Has the Raptor actually been used for anything dangerous at all, anywhere?  Have a lot of Typhoons been shot down?

BF2 had J10's for china, 2 for mec (cant remember the names) and 2 for US  (F-15 and.. something) 
 
 
anyway, i dont know shit about jets, so this thread is awesome !

The F-22 Raptor has only been introduced into its life service since 2005, therefore the "never shot down before" remark is irrelevant. Now, if you want impressive records, it is the F-15 Eagle, which has never been shot down in a dogfight. 
 
The Chinese Air Force recently has flown the Chengdu J-20. The specs are a bit mystified. The technology is probably 10-15 years behind the F-22 Raptor when it comes to stealth, but China can probably manufacture these planes at half the cost.
 
As for what I want to see in the game, who could forget the A-10 Thunderbolt II? That plane is literally a flying tank. You may as well throw in the Sukhoi Su-27.

You all suck SOOOOO BAD for not mentioning an F-14 Tomcat so we can live out our dreams of pretending to be Maverick in Top Gun while screaming HIGHWAY TO THE DANGER ZONE at the top of our lungs and then going out later to play a totally-not-gay shirtless game of beach volleyball in jeans and aviators.

 Also that totally isn't a Eurofighter in the trailer - what is wrong with you?  My money says an SU30 MKI*, but definitely a Sukhoi of some type.
 
*edit: mostly because I think fictional India vs. Pakistan would be an awesome conflict to use.

The F-35 Lightning II from Lockheed Martin a.k.a. the Joint Strike Fighter.  I'd want the Marine's V-TOL version.  
  

I honestly would love to see SU-34s

A-10 would make me happy. Fly by ground units with that front cannon blasting, it would be the most amazing thing to rack up 5+ kills in one cannon sweep. I think if the maps allow there should 1 bomber per team or something (B-2 or something). I would like the F-14 over the F-18 if they have the F-22 (so much more iconic). Yeah, those are my wishes for the American jets.

You could pilot planes in BF2 with WASD and it didn't bother you?  I tried it once for fun and I was just looking blank.  Sticks aren't that expensive either!  Even an old school sidewinder will be alright. "

As far as I'm aware of it, this shouldn't be true, since the F-22 is a stealth fighter but the F-35 is a multi-role fighter. The USAF likes to have specialized aircraft, as each has their own characteristics, utilities and strengths.  Not sure if the F-35 will be used as a air superiority fighter, however. "

Can't mention jets without MIGs on the Soviet side and the old Japanese Zero Fighters.Of course,if this is a modern day battlefield,then that's a different story...

Dude, the Su-34 is the best. It actually has a small kitchen and bathroom in the back. That's technology you can't beat.
