Pre-release images of thee game left me positively salivating. And has this game come through in spades, especially the campaign. I don't quite get what people find so disappointing in the story, it's war and Battlefield has always tried to make it as realistic as possible. Obviously the set-pieces and wow-moments were lifted from COD, but so what?
The co-op is fun and a good way to get some chopper practice. However, I was mildly annoyed at the absence of check-points.
The multi-player positively rocks. The maps are varied and the settings uber-realistic. Team work is crucial and also thinking before plunging in. After a session I'm left giddy, gasping and shaking. It is that intense, for me at least.
Battlefield is trying to appeal to as wide an audience as possible without loosing its identity and keeping what makes it unique. I don't the game will win over many new recruits, but fans will definitely not be disappointed.
