My graphics card isn't prepared, and my wallet isn't prepared for a new graphics card. All in all, preparation's going poorly.

Medium-High'ish @ 1080p @ 30'ish FPS on my rig, it seems. Doesn't matter though, I'll just get the PS4 version. Just hope DICE will somehow manage 1080p rendering resolution. Or at least 1080p'ish enough to not look like low res mud.

Welp, I can definitely run it...probably pretty okay, considering I'm using a 1440x900 monitor with an HD 7770.

I like how they recommend 2 2GB Video cards but recommend 3GB of Vram.

what does "recommended" normally equate to, performance-wise at 1080?

I could play it, but I'm just going to get the PS4 version if I get it all...it will most likely run better on that at this point, need a new graphics card!

Varies game to game, honestly. They probably should just either a) stop publishing recommended specs altogether, or b) have the industry agree on what the hell it actually means. The larger problem is that even if you say it means "1080p, 60 fps, 4x AA, high settings," Game 1's high textures could look substantially better (and thus be much more taxing) than Game 2's.

Recommended specs are always silly and I ignore them. 8 GB of ram? Are they saying that their engine is capable of taking advantage of that much ram? It probably doesn't even top 2gb at full settings.

Do people play online shooter games like this on full settings anyway? I always put all the sliders at the lowest because FPS takes priority over all.

I just barely pass the pass the recommended specs. I guess if this is any indication of Frostbite 3's performance, I'm going to need to upgrade my everything before Dragon Age comes out next year.

Also, "Prepared4Battle"? Are you fucking serious?

Remember when that dude from Dice said on twitter that you'd need 2 gtx580s to play BF3 on ultra settings? That was pretty funny.

EA's pay to win system basically ruined BF3. Air vehicle unlocks are ridiculous.

Is 30GB required space normal? My knee-jerk reaction says that seems pretty big. I wonder how much space they would save if they allowed you to download/install just the multiplayer part? Maybe it's because I prefer to buy disk-based games anyway (and have only got into PC gaming in the last year) but I didn't think that had become the norm; makes me wonder how long these new consoles' 500GB hard drives are going to last (as the games are bound to be increasing in size as the years pass).

BF3 with all DLCs is about 35GB. Rome 2 is also 35GB. Max Payne 3 on PC is 30GB. The Witcher 2, Shogun 2 are games nearing 30GB. Basically PC games that uses higher res assets are pushing upward of 20GB more and more often.

Yeah 500GB for next gen consoles really isn't gonna cut it in the long run for most people going all digital all the time.

Sorry what? It takes one kill to get the countermeasures, everything else is optional. Air-vs-air battles are fought with primary MGs, 90% of the time. Your impression is pure deflection, I'm sorry to break it to you.

This game will use 8gb of ram. Any limitation in the past has more to do with 32-bit operating systems not being able to utilize more than 4gig of ram (including vram). Now that 64-bit operating systems are pretty much standard, developers can use more.
Plus the FPS priority only goes so far. If you are getting 60+fps then it does not really matter how many extra frames your computer can pump out, especially when you are playing online. IF this was running over LAN, then that would be a different story.
