    I'm not sure anyone can help, but steam support is taking forever. I preordered bfbc2 months ago and downloaded it, and only now did i have the time to play it. I launched it (it aint installed yet) and it says the game is unavailable at this time, it did this last week too, but steam said some EA servers were down. Can anybody help?

    Two things. 
     
    First, go to the BFBC2 folder (steam/steamapps/common/BFBC2). 
     
    Delete the games .exe. 
     
    Then go to steam, right click BFBC2 in your list, and hit properties. Click the local files tab. Hit Verify Integrity of Game Cache. 
     
    It will download a small amount, and your game should work after this. 
     
    It's extremely likely you suffered a bug that steam had (and fixed, but not until after you already downloaded it) that messed up decrypting.

    @ TheDeadComedian, I would try downloading from a different download region server. Open up steam, on the corner of the window click on File -> Settings, then on the tab labeled "Downloads".. under there switch your download region to another close server then it will ask you to restart your steam. Hope that helps.

    @TheDeadComedian:  I think i know your problem, check to see if your shortcut is trying to run the game in administrator mode.  Steam doesn't like that and refuses to open the game like that.   Also check to see that bfbc2.exe doesn't have the adminstrator mode checkbox in the properties of the file.
