Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Game » consists of 26 releases. Released Mar 02, 2010
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is the second installment in this spin-off Battlefield series. It has a more serious campaign and a vastly expanded multiplayer system.
Which map do you want most from Bad Company 1?
Oasis and Harvest Day are the two maps I want to see returning. I think they'd be awesome with the revamped playstyle of Bad Company 2. Oasis is nice and open yet allows for close range fighting in the buildings (which can now be knocked down!), and there is a Hind at one of the bases as well, which is nice. But at the same time I want Harvest Day, because it's open with lots of stealthy cover, such as the fields near the barn. Plus, both maps have a ton of vehicles - something sadly lacking in Rush mode in BC2, sadly.
None from BC1
but.... I would want these BF2 Maps in a Map Pack.
Wake Island
Gulf of Omen
Strike at Karkland
Zatar Wetlands
grr. oasis was a little too wide. you think there are too many snipers now? end of the line was just the sex. harvest day would be sweet as well
Harvest Day. BTW, most current BC2 maps feel too contrived and video-gamey/fake. BC1 maps felt more like real locations. (There are a lot of improvements in BC2, like hardcore mode...so I still spent ~75 hours on it -- 99% in hardcore mode -- so far...)
Harvest Day or Final Ignition. They were some great maps. I kinda see how Oasis might be fun to play now, but I just have too many awful memories of that map. Also, as mentioned above I would like to see a map pack comprising the greatest maps throughout Battlefield history.
Oasis is sick.
It reminds me of Arica Harbour due to the fact that the map has a really good progression that really makes it feel like a push rather than a static arena.
Although the game itself was so broken, "Modern Combat" had some terrific maps. Bridge Too Far I'd pay $5.00 alone for. And Backstab!

No hind in BC1 I'm afraid, Oasis had apache for the attacking americans, and a black shark for the defending middle eastern coalition guys.
On topic, I really want End of the line, but I miss most of the rush maps from BC1. There's too few vehicle-maps in BC2, and they all feel to narrow, too few chokepoints, compared to the previous game.

Do you like chokepoints?

I think we actually agree, maybe I worded myself somewhat unfortunate. I'll try to clarify.
In my opinion, a map without chokepoints is bad, it spreads out the fighting, and dilutes the experience of beeing in an intense fight. Combat becomes more about ambushing, without a focused "front".
However, and many of the BC2 maps is guilty of this, a map/stage with a single chokepoint, with no way around it, just becomes a frustrating killing field, heavily favoritizing the defenders.
Lets say I'm talking more about a choke "area" than a chokepoint.
