So. Bayonetta 2. Its official and I'm excited. How bout you? Yes? Of course you are. So what do we want to see from Bayonetta 2?

After the insanity that was the ending of Bayonetta where you PUNCHED the end boss into the sun with a giant hair monster how in earth can they top that insanity?

New weapons and what not obviously. I'm wondering if Jeanne might be playable from the start this time. It would be fun if you switched off and Jeanne played differently from Bayonetta. Trying to rack my brain for anything else I think would be cool but dunno. Even if its more of what Bayonetta was I think I'll be happy. It was just an insane thrillride.

Unless they put it on another console i won't be able to play it.
The first is one of my favorite games this generation, Xbox and Playstation owners helped make Bayonetta a success, we are rewarded with a WiiU sequel, i am not amused.

If it continues to be a WiiU exclusive I am just going to forget this game will/even exist/s.

@cikame: SEGA cancelled the game. Nintendo saved it. We would have never seen it period if not for Nintendo.

This. I'm glad someone 'saved' this game. I'm not glad it's Nintendo. I really want to play it. I could not possibly give less of a fuck about the WiiU..

I'm still trying to wrestle with my feelings for Bayonetta 2 as a Wii U exclusive. My initial impression was total shock, I know that much.

...but if I had to speculate my hopes and dreams for the game, I'm going to say I hope some Anarchy Reigns characters show up for some inexplicable reason to return the love for Bayonetta's appearance as a guest fighter. A boss fight with Rin Rin and hersisters would be awesome. Either that or a fight with Jack Cayman would be cool. They could be bonus boss fights that have no bearing on the plot. I think that would be sweet.

Honestly I'm not sure what to expect from a Bayonetta sequel. Platinum Games were never in the business of sequels, so I'm not sure how they could possibly make it crazier or more ridiculous. More fights defying gravity would be cool.

@FluxWaveZ: Pretty much. People have said it got cancelled because Sega was in trouble. Nintendo basically gave it a 1up...or Bottle Fairy...or whatever they have.

Maybe make the story make some sort of sense? Other then that I was very happy with Bayonetta, I would never imagine being able to get all the achievements in that game.

Bayonetta is probably my favourite action game (Devil May Cry, God of War, etc.), well, ever. This may force me to buy a WiiU.

My dream for Bayonetta 2 is the same as most people here, that it comes out on the PS3/360

Great news, although there's no way I'm ever buying a Wii U, so I have mixed feelings about this. I've still actually not finished the first game yet. I have the PS3 version and that is such a god damn mess that I just stopped playing it, because the game deserves so much better than that. If I don't just borrow a 360, I'll probably end up buying one some day solely to play that game, which kind of depresses the crap out of me. The idea of the same situation with a Wii U is untenable.

I'm just going to pretend that this is going to bring about a Bayonetta renaissance and both games will come to the PC and I won't have to cry myself to sleep every night.

I understand why it's a Wii U exclusive, but that doesn't change my utter dismay. :(

Bayonetta is the most satisfying gaming experience I've had this generation but I never felt like it needed a sequel, the fact that it'll be on a console I haven't the faintest interest in seals the deal. It'll be great regardless.

Playing it on Infinite Climax gave me the push I needed to start learning 1 frame link combos in SF4.

@ervonymous: Oh yeah. The timing was absolutely insane for some of the attacks if you REALLY wanted to dig into the game. Or you could put it on auto and mash a single button and do flashy shit and still feel okay about it if you weren't that skilled. Its the best game of its kind this gen. I'd say of all time but... I still like DMC 3 and Ninja Gaiden Black better.

From what I can gather, there's two reasons. One, most people don't find the idea of buying a console for the sole purpose of playing one game an appealing idea. Two, the original was released on both the 360 and PS3, a console which a lot of people already own. To my knowledge, the WiiU is slightly more powerful than the two, but not so much so that developing a game on the platform means you can't have it on the other consoles as well.

Hey guys, the console you were not going to get has a game on you you really want. Guess somewhere along the lines this makes owning a Wii U awesome.

I am in the camp of this is lame, I played Bayonetta on 360 and really want to play this but spending 300 right before having to probably spend another 300+ on one of the two consoles next year that are going to have better visually, and more ip's I will want to play. Hard to make it work out.

Just such a shame I could never get into the first Bayonetta, because I'm sure the gameplay is rather phenomenal. Unfortunately there was just... too much Japanese craziness for my liking.

This is a bit of a different situation, if you've been following it. Sega essentially killed Bayonetta 2. With Ninja Gaiden 2, they were pretty much in bed with one another to get it out before Metal Gear Solid 4. Nintendo reviving the game, and publishing it, is a lot different.

I really don't get all the anger. The game was seemingly dead, done, not gonna happen... now Nintendo revives it and people are mad? Isn't a Wii U sequel better than no sequel? Also, Nintendo is doing exactly what people have wanted them to for years, they're reaching out to core gamers again. We should be applauding them, not condemning. Frankly I hope it doesn't ever go to another console. If Nintendo is the one to see the worth in getting the game out, they should be the only one to benefit from it.

As for the game itself, man I don't even know. I've long said that a Bayonetta 2 without Kamiya would worry me some and it has. The perfect blending of great gameplay, humor, an insane story, tongue-in-cheek sexuality, and fantastic characters is one I've always attributed to him solely so hopefully I've been overestimating him just a little and the others can pull it of again. P+'s a pretty good studio overall so I have a bit of faith.

One thing for sure is it's going to be really hard to top the last one so I'm going to try and keep my expectations in line.

Add in some full frontal nudity and more dry humping. That would help.

Nintendo sealed the deal with this one for me. They rescued a game that they know people want? Specifically a sequel to one of my favorite games ever? Yeah, I'll definitely buy your goofball console for this.
