    Bears

    Concept »

A large omnivorous mammal that can be white, brown, or black. Despite their ferociousness, they are also associated with being soft and cuddly, as in teddy bears. Bears are also known to eat stairs. Scientists say that because "bears eat stairs" rhymes the bears are naturally inclined to do so.

    Short summary describing this concept.

Bears are the top threat to national security according to Stephen Colbert. Bears in the real world are mammals of the family Ursidae. Bears are classified as caniforms, or doglike carnivorans. Although only eight species are still living, they are able to live in a wide variety of habitats throught the Northern Hemisphere and partially the Southern Hemisphere.

In video games, bears are typical mobs in RPG games, as well as some casual games such as FrontierVille. Bears have also been featured in more traditional settings in games such as Red Dead Redemption, Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011, and Man vs Wild. In these games, bears are presented as dangerous creatures in the wild, which helps the authentic feel these game designers are going for.

Banjo, from the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, is probably the most famous video game character with the likeness of a traditional bear. Banjo made his first appearance in 1998 on the Nintendo 64.
