Beverly Hills Cop, not to be confused with the 1990 game of the same name, is a first-person shooter developed by Atomic Planet Entertainment (along with 3rd Dimension Creations) and published by Blast! Entertainment for the PlayStation 2 (Platform) exclusively in Europe in 2006.
Based on the action-comedy film series of the same name, Beverly Hills Cop is set sometime after the original 1984 film and puts players in control of street-smart Detroit PD detective Alex Foley as he helps Beverly Hills PD officers Taggart and Rosewood investigate a crime ring in Beverly Hills (Location).
The game is known for its various questionable design decisions, including the depiction and mannerisms of Axel (who barely resembles original actor Eddie Murphy (Person)), the dialogue system (which involves stopping a revolver chamber at the correct time to determine its success), and the overall quality of the gameplay, graphics, and sound.
"This is the 9/11 of video games." - Jeff Gerstmann (Person), Giant Bomb
