First the thing with The Last of Us, and now this? I guess that means no more Ellen Page on PS4 then.

This website linked cited the Christian Post. The Christian Post made no attribution for the claim but mentioned Bustle.com. Bustle.com had an article where they mentioned a rumor that Ellen Page may be suing Sony, but they also did not mention where they might have heard this. So where exactly is this rumor coming from? I keep hearing it and I'd be really interested to see a source.

What a stupid thing. Why would they make a nude model in the first place?

This is icky to me. I can't imagine how embarrassing it would be to have something like this come out if you didn't want it to.

@itwongo: They were able to access the camera which is usually controlled by the game the nude model appears in two shower scenes but the camera angles are very carefully controlled to cover all of her bits. They were able to accesss thr camera by playing the game on a debug unit. She had to know at least in some capacity that there were nude models of her because the actors mocapped all the scenes themselves. So honestly, I dont know what to think about the whole thing.

Well good job anyway. This was it. A big production, screening in France, big name actors and all endorsing it. Now people that play games are back to being horny perverts that only want to see digital boobies again..

@animasta: Scene was in acting the shower scene. I know she wasn't actually nude but she must of known they were going to make a nude model.

Maybe someone on the dev team made a nude model for personal enjoyment and hid it in the code? I don't know.

She must have known there'd be a nude model, but the scene was intentionally directed to obscure any nudity; considering Cage's first two games never shyed away from any nudity, it was more than likely at Page's behest. However, I imagine she's a little... out of her element when it comes to this whole video games thing, so she probably never even considered that the camera could be manipulated to get a full look.

All I'm saying is that I've seen plenty of shower scenes in movies without nudity. Psycho, Twister, Ferris Bueller, etc. A shower scene does not mean nudity.

Like every other game with nudity ever. This is just fucking weird. I'm not going to say they deserve to be sued, because it's hard for her to argue they put a naked image of her in the game when it's not actually her body. I mean, I can photoshop an Ellen Page head over my naked body (hot, btw), will she sue me? Still, stupid fucking behavior on the developer's part. They at very least deserve the threat of being sued.

Seems like an odd grey area. It's not really her, and I'm assuming it's not based off real data since she has that no-nude policy. This would make it a model based off her dimensions and basic appearance, but it can't be 100% accurate. Does that really count as a nude model of her?

If she were to sue anybody why would she be suing Sony? I'd go after the actual game makers and be asking questions of Quantic Dream about it. Hopefully Cage will learn not to have a shower scene in every one of his games, jeez man we get it already, you like chicks walking around in their underwear/ pyjamas/ the nude, who doesn't? But cool it for one game.

I kind've want to see it now...just to see how far they went with it and how outraged people should be. I mean if they went full scale modelling nipples, texturing areola's for breasts that were never meant to be on view then yeah, the studio's got problems.

Sure, I'm not necessarily defending Quantic Dream or anything. Just trying to get a sense of it all. I, er... googled the image just to see how detailed it was and, well... I assume they must have intended to use it? But then Page says no, and so they're thinking, ''Well we made this damn thing, so we might as well put in there, even if you can't see it all''. If they had already known before hand that they weren't going to have a nude shower scene, however, and yet still went through with detailing this complex texture, then... what.

Unless it's a 1:1, physically scanned model of her goodies, what basis does she have to do this? Anyone can make a 3d model of her naked and put it on the internet.

Well this really took an unfortunate turn. I feel sorry for Page though.

But Sony really aren't the ones responsible. You could say it's QD, there isn't any real nudity in the final game, but it's the internet so ofcourse someone is gonna find some way to... get Ellen Page naked, even if it's virtual Ellen Page. You could say it's Cage's fault and his weird fascination with shower scenes.

Two shower scenes in Beyond, three in Heavy Rain, one of them isn't as explicit as the rest though, and I'm pretty sure there is one in Fahrenheit too.

I think the difference is that it's part of a commercial product. Yeah, you could make a nude digital model of ellen page, but if you put that into a product that you tried to sell in stores you'd absolutely get sued out the ass.

I guess. If the examiner is to be believed (which, uhhh??? I??? umm...) it will probably just get settled out of court. Sony is a mega giant corporation and can make this type of problem go away pretty easily with a quick flash of cash.

She walks to his backyard where he's tanning by the pool, smoking a cigar and drinking a fine scotch. He makes small talk with some slightly sexist/racist/antisemetic undertones (he's from a different era), then offers her a part in a new sony pictures classic film that's a sure thing at the oscars next year.

This seems more like a situation where a paparazzo gets a nude pic while she's changing clothes. Or someone gets a hold of dailies for some movie that do have nude shots of the actors even though the released movie is clean. That it's a kind of hacked version of the game makes it less like Sony is intentionally violating their contract and closer to a case of negligence.

Good for her, and she totally should. "No nudity" is a pretty difficult instruction to fuck up. Just don't add details to a Barbie-esque body, stick clam shells over her bits, or hell, just have her be floating arms and a head in those scenes.

Don't worry, it doesn't damage your "artistic integrity" if you respect your actors.
