The third game in the BioShock series leaves the bottom of the sea behind for an entirely new setting - the floating city of Columbia, circa 1912. Come to retrieve a girl named Elizabeth, ex-detective Booker DeWitt finds more in store for him there than he could ever imagine.
Ken Levine Explains How "Tears" Will Work In Bioshock Infinite
Game designers should stop pretending they understand anything about science. The Bioshock and Assassin's Creed games are just embarrassing in their attempts to sound "scientific".I actually wrote a term paper about how people commonly claim science fiction is about the possible and plausible when it's really not. Science fiction is more about the creator inventing a place and set of principles that makes the impossible seem possible.

Tears for Fares made me lol.
Glad you caught that. The other interns were NOT happy about it.
@DrLove: Nah. Nor do I really care to since they allowed the horrible undertones of DNF to pass by without blinking an eye.

It almost makes up for "Full of win."

This has to be the most ambitious game of 2011 hands down.
So ambitious that 2011 had to dodge out of the way and let 2012 handle it.
There's some pretty interesting concepts the have going into Bioshock Infinite. Wonder what would have happened had he chosen the door, would that have been their escape route?
I just smiled continuously for about 3 minutes and 11 seconds. The other 10 seconds was a jaw on the floor from the end.

Dammit! I still don't know which Tears for Fears song gets used. Guess I'll just have to buy the game to find out.
@The_Nubster: it's odd how different people seem to view that, I personally think that the story of the original Bioshock was far superior, while the combat was a bit of a lacklustre. The second one offered far more combat, yet the story wasn't as good. To me, a game with an interesting story, has a much bigger draw than fun gameplay.
Your right, however your example B is whats beeing talked about directly "a tear aka To make (an opening) by ripping". Even though its could be a play of both meaningsOk, Iam going to need some help here, English is not my native language.. The word tears , has two meanings? it can either be tears like a : "John is crying big crocodile tears" or b : "The tears in John's jacket are huge" ? No seriously help me.. is this right?
I want to play thisso bad.
I think I might stop watching the coverage of it though so I can go in fresh like I did with Portal 2.
I was just thinking, from what I saw there bringing objects through tears seems a lot less violent then I was expecting. The way the cover appears in the video there it seemed to me like it was effortless for Elizabeth to bring it into their reality.
Which raises the question, if its that easy why not just bring in everything in, not just one object? If the objects were to flash in and violently displace other objects in their path it would convey (at least to me) that Elizabeth is not fully in control of the transition and would help explain why you can only bring in one object at a time. At the very least the new object has to displace the air that stands where its coming in. What with the whole "2 objects cannot occupy the same point in four dimensional space time" law. You know in physics.
Or am I just over thinking this.
@gizmoFSU:
My snark cup runneth over. I guess I just thought it would be more entertaining than saying "no it comes out in 2012". But considering the viciousness of human nature rampant on the internet, I understand if you thought I was making fun of you. Not my intention.
Wut? Really? You broke my heart with Bioshock 1 Ken. YOU BROKE MY HEART!!
It was meant to be the ultimate FPS-RPG and it succeeded in doing neither particularly well.
I know it was you Ken..... I know it was you. But I'll give you once more chance, and you better not fuck up.
P.S. I liked Bioshock 2...
You might be the first person I've met who thinks this way.
