The third game in the BioShock series leaves the bottom of the sea behind for an entirely new setting - the floating city of Columbia, circa 1912. Come to retrieve a girl named Elizabeth, ex-detective Booker DeWitt finds more in store for him there than he could ever imagine.
I fully expect to be blown away by where they take us using this "tears" concepts. If they're willing to show us an alternate 1983 in the demo a year before release, what are they keeping secret?
I'm wondering if that is an alternate 1983 though. While the marquee did say "Revenge of the Jedi" I'm pretty sure that was the name of the movie up until the last minute, when Lucas decided he didn't like the title. We might be seeing times advertised for Jedi before the name change, making the tear a look at our 1983. I can't wait for this game, parallel realities are one of my favorite sci-fi tropes, and I really want to see where the Irrational team take this idea.
