I bought the collectors edition of Bioshock when it first game out in 2007 for XBOX 360 but when my XBOX RROD´ed on me (that piece of shit) I got a PS3 and move on. I played a little bit of it back then but never got really far. As a fan of System Shock I was always curious if I liked this as much.
I bought it for PS3 from a bargain bin sometime and have not touched it.
So is Bioshock still worth it to be started all over?

Should I still play this?
Definitely, but don't go in expecting System Shock. Also, the first 10 mins aren't really indicative of the rest of the game.
Yes. Yes. A thousand times, yes. It is still very much worth your time. It is one of the best games of this generation.

I'm in the same boar, I've had a copy for years, never played it aside from the first 10 miniutes.
Damn, I thought I was the only one haha. I bought it from Steam for 5 bucks ages ago and you know that part when you reach the hallway and the water breaks through the walls. For the life of me I could never be interested enough to get to the other side.
What the heck is wrong with you guys? Play it already. It's great. Just don't expect the FPS combat to be great, because it's not.
Definitely play it! Make sure you try and get as involved with the game as you can while you play it as the city of Rapture is full of character and has an interesting back story.
I'm going to go ahead and reiterate what has already been said a bunch of times here (because I wanna be one'a the cool kids): Yes. It's a great game, and all should get the chance to bask in it's glory.
No but seriously, yes go play it, definitely, its one of the most atmospheric shooters (after Stalker of course) and it truly has excellent gameplay and story, have fun.
I'm having my first serious playthrough currently and the game still hold up. not bad at all, just too freaky and twitchy
Yeah, it's one of my favorite games, so I'd say you definitely should. The atmosphere is enthralling.

Sounds hot.
Definitely Yes. I was in the same situation - had an unopened copy for 2 years and decided to finally play the game after seeing the Bioshock Infinite stuff at E3. The game is really awesome. One tip though is to really listen to all of recording and get soaked up in the story and the atmosphere.

I'm not sure how the gameplay has aged and by now so much of the story must be spoiled for you. Just give it 2 hours and see how it goes. If you don't want to keep playing then don't.
I agree with this. I had never played the game, but knew the basic beats of the story just from hanging around video game forums. One of my friends who is a huge fan recently found out and forced me to play through it. While not a terrible experience, I didn't have that much fun with it and would have rather spent my time doing something else.
Yes. Yes. A thousand times, yes. It is still very much worth your time. It is one of the best games of this generation.Almost entirely agree with this, except in my opinion it's THE best game of this generation.
Maybe it was just the time in my life when I first played it, but I haven't finished Bioshock. I got to a certain point, and just didn't care anymore. I usually like having a reason for my character to do what he's doing, and as much as I know now the story reason behind it, I got to a point first playing it where as a player I didn't want to be running errands any more.
It pales in comparison to System Shock 2.
It's still worth playing I guess, I just think it's a tad overrated.
I'm in the same boarYou guys are riding a wild pig together? Where can I get in on that action? :)
It's a great game. Still holds up. The story beats might not hit as well though since you've no doubt had things spoiled by now. Alas, it's still worth it to see what all the buzz was about.
Obviously.
I mean really.. one of the greatest games of all time. How are there people who haven'y played Bioshock?
Yeah, you should. I just finished it for a forth time, now. The core gameplay isn't amazing, but everything else is.
