I bought the collectors edition of Bioshock when it first game out in 2007 for XBOX 360 but when my XBOX RROD´ed on me (that piece of shit) I got a PS3 and move on. I played a little bit of it back then but never got really far. As a fan of System Shock I was always curious if I liked this as much.

I bought it for PS3 from a bargain bin sometime and have not touched it.

So is Bioshock still worth it to be started all over?

Definitely, but don't go in expecting System Shock. Also, the first 10 mins aren't really indicative of the rest of the game.

Yes play it, don't look up the story or anything on wikipedia. Personally I'd play through it on easy and just enjoy being immersed in the world. Its one of the greatest video games of all time, and will be remembered for a long time, so I think its definitely worth a play through.

I'm not sure how the gameplay has aged and by now so much of the story must be spoiled for you. Just give it 2 hours and see how it goes. If you don't want to keep playing then don't.

Damn, I thought I was the only one haha. I bought it from Steam for 5 bucks ages ago and you know that part when you reach the hallway and the water breaks through the walls. For the life of me I could never be interested enough to get to the other side.

What the heck is wrong with you guys? Play it already. It's great. Just don't expect the FPS combat to be great, because it's not.

Yeah, it's a great game. I played it for the first time last month and had a great time. It's a flawed game, to be sure, but it's an utterly fantastic world that it creates. Be sure to not get anything spoiled for yourself, though.

YES!! Bioshock is my favorite game EVER! The gameplay is fun, but what makes it so fantastic, is everything else. The story, setting, characters, atmosphere, and soundtrack are all fantastic.

Definitely play it! Make sure you try and get as involved with the game as you can while you play it as the city of Rapture is full of character and has an interesting back story.

Definitely Yes. I was in the same situation - had an unopened copy for 2 years and decided to finally play the game after seeing the Bioshock Infinite stuff at E3. The game is really awesome. One tip though is to really listen to all of recording and get soaked up in the story and the atmosphere.

I agree with this. I had never played the game, but knew the basic beats of the story just from hanging around video game forums. One of my friends who is a huge fan recently found out and forced me to play through it. While not a terrible experience, I didn't have that much fun with it and would have rather spent my time doing something else.

I hated Bioshock. Good story and atmosphere doesn't make the shooting in that game any less terribly, terribly awful.

Maybe it was just the time in my life when I first played it, but I haven't finished Bioshock. I got to a certain point, and just didn't care anymore. I usually like having a reason for my character to do what he's doing, and as much as I know now the story reason behind it, I got to a point first playing it where as a player I didn't want to be running errands any more.

It's the worst on PS3, but even so, it's really really... well, it's near perfect. And the beginning is one of my favorite of any game to date. The only people I know that don't like it much is my brother and my best friend. I kind of think it's weird.

It pales in comparison to System Shock 2.

It's still worth playing I guess, I just think it's a tad overrated.

It's a great game. Still holds up. The story beats might not hit as well though since you've no doubt had things spoiled by now. Alas, it's still worth it to see what all the buzz was about.

You don't know me, so this doesn't mean much, but I like Bio Shock. No, it's not system shock but it gets pretty close in my opinion and in my opinion it still holds up.

That's not worth much but I think you should give it another go if you got nothing else to play right now.
