Did they just admit mass effect is shooter and not rpg and that is why 360 is lead?
There was not a question when we started Old Republic - or any of our games, for that matter - [what the lead format would be]. There's a reason the lead SKU for Dragon age was PC as well. When we're developing an RPG, it's a natural place to be.
It's translated from german.

BIOWARE: PC will always be our leadplatform
too bad bioware games bore the fuck out of me, otherwise i'd enjoy their PC dedication since my main platform is PC
my problem with bioware games is this :" @Ahmad_Metallic said:

- there are brainless games that dont need your care, just your time, like generic shooters, and they're not very satisfying but fun
- now there are the action/adventure games which have a nice story and keep you interested, mostly sandbox games like GTA
- but then, there are the games that want you to go out of your way and simply become a resident in the game's universe, care too much like its a matter of life and death to you, just get really involved out of the blue and read tons of pages that summarize your character's whole life and the history and politics of the game... and that, my friend, is too much. i could never enjoy a bioware game or similar games because they want me to BECOME the character, and thats quite difficult and boring since it has to happen quick
" @bcooper56 said:The PC version of ME2 was a port?" @Geno said:But they did the ME2 port. "" @xyzygy said:They don't do shooters on pc. "" I think this was like, a known fact. They didn't even do the console ports of Dragon Age. "Well, for the original Mass Effect they didn't to the PC port. "
I've always thought that classic RPGs were superiour on the PC. I'm glad that BioWare is sensible enough to realise this as well.
" @bcooper56 said:Unless it's a different developer or they're released at dramatically different times, it's not a port." @Geno said:But they did the ME2 port. So no ME2 was not a port, people just like to be elitist about PC games.
Liars, then again I wouldn't believe Valve if they said PC is their lead platform ( Maybe they've already said that.) Developers go where the money is, and the money isn't on PC no matter how much I want it to be.
And Mass Effect 2 was very much a port, it had almost nothing in it that was unique to PC. They couldn't be bothered to make a button to bring up your damn quest journal.
" ME2 clearly wasn't led on PC. Having mouse control in that game is tantamount to FPS view in Twin Snakes. If ME2 was a PC game, they suck at them. DA was alright. The only thing purely PC oriented about Bioware is they think they can release broken games and patch them later. "Mass Effect 2 was fine on PC. I've played both version of both games and the PC wins hands down on ME1 and 2.
ME2 was clearly a port. Use/Sprint/Cover all on the same keybind an no way to break them out? What the fuck.
" @ryanwho said:Nah. Camera was annoying and mouse controls broke a game that's already super easy. Its a snooze. Also, infinite paragon glitch remains unfixed, infinite skill points glitch remains unfixed. Laughable stuff." ME2 clearly wasn't led on PC. " Doesn't surprise me. They have had some great success on the PC. Outside of Mass Effect, every one of Bioware's games are superior on the PC. Valve and Blizzard also share the same mindset. It makes me laugh when people try to say that PC gaming is dieing. "OFT. I mean just look at the reaction to a Steam sale for example, even if it's a mid-week madness deal or a week-end Deal.
