Overview

Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold is a sci-fi first-person shooter developed by JAM and published by Apogee for the PC on October 5, 1993.
Set in the year 2140, players control British secret agent Blake Stone as he investigates the threat of Dr. Pyrus Goldfire, a rogue bio-scientist planning on enslaving humanity using an army of human soldiers, robotic warriors, indoctrinated aliens, and genetically-engineered mutants.
The game, running on an enhanced Wolfenstein 3D engine, includes six 11-level episodes (each episode including a secret level and a bonus level), each set in a unique facility occupied by Dr. Goldfire. The first episode was released as the game's shareware release. The game was also sold in an optional bundle with Wolfenstein 3D and later received a sequel (Blake Stone: Planet Strike).
It was re-released (running under DOSBox) via GOG.com, the 3D Realms website (both separately and in the 3D Realms Anthology bundle), and Steam (from both the Apogee Throwback Pack bundle, which also includes the sequel and Rise of the Triad: Dark War, and the 3D Realms Anthology - Steam Edition bundle).
